no, this might be a reference to NTSC ver 1.0, which has all of the glitches that ever existed in Melee (and has to be the version they played on). The turnip glitch was patched out for 1.1, and most of the glitches were patched out by NTSC 1.2 / PAL. Nothing to do with damage rate (shout-out to the Komo/Zack set at G4)

With so many copies of melee being played all from disc on vanilla, it's easy for a few 1.00 or 1.01 discs to slip through. Almost never makes a difference, probably played on all the time with no notice. Though I do wonder, if savestate had took that game or even the set on 1.00, could Armada have called the rules and redone the set on 1.02?

I heard that actually almost every set up was 1.0. So that's why this happened. I really doubt he could have though honestly it might make a big enough difference in some matchups. Also keep in mind, if you hit with peach's up b, you can tell if the game is 1.0 or not. In 1.0 it just feels different, I don't know how to explain it. So you could figure out it was 1.0 mid match and abuse it. I bought a 1.0 disk for frozen turnip glitch and I think I'm just going to carry it around and ask if people want to play it. Why not. And Link mains and Samus mains will probably agree to their detriment.

It's a very easy glitch to set up now that people understand how to do it. Doesn't work in the standard version of Melee for tournaments anyways
