@@Milktube Nah, in Melee, it is way easier to DI each hit. If you land even 3 nairs in a row it's due to bad DI or you making a good read on which way they're trying to go. Luckily they'll patch this game and take out the BS, I'm interested to see how far it goes

I think this match reflects a lot of what is wrong with this game in it's current state. When 0-death combos are THIS practical and mostly consisting of the same attack over and over, the metagame is painfully simple. I like this game but in it's current state it's not really tournament-ready. They literally had to ban one of the characters.

the devs are already nerfing this due to feedback, and they couldn't get the latest patches out for the tournament since console versions have to go through a approval process before they get released, and they were using the switch version.

Smash on release was just a bunch of people playing inkling chrom krool and pichu. Its still fun to watch release game play, obviously it needs work but the game is still good. If the game wasn’t going to be patched then agreed but with patches this game will be fun to watch

Definitely some kinks need to be worked out from this game - Aang covers more space, has a better recovery, and an abusively strong nair combo game/deals more damage off one hit than Spongebob. Oblina down airs need work. Jab locks are still finnicky. The turtles need to changed so people don't want to ban them. Also shield seems a bit too strong? Aang's whole strategy seemed to be that instead of winning neutral, he would just approach and then shield, and he could either punish unsafe shield pressure or react and out range any attempt for Spongebob to grab him with his disjoints. Wish there was a mechanism to outplay that kind of strategy. All in all, love that the devs are working on all of the above problems, and happy with the support behind this game. It looks fun. But still things need to change.

Seeing mirrormans spongebob combos with d-air n-air and up strong, it seemed to only do around 55-60% which while is strong isn’t as free as sang nair. I think the DI changes and aang nair hit box nerf will probably keep nair from doing more then it needs to

Nair loops as they are now are being changed but they're testing out making DI stronger first (10°>16°), adding dash dancing and fixing some hitboxes before they make any hard Nair changes. OH except for Mikey, his nair is getting reworked asap. A lot of the clock sync and stutter issues have been identified as well and those should be relatively simple fixes.

They just have to remove the ability to airdodge during an aerial, you could airdodge like some frame after but not during the animation. The majority of nair loops and up air bridge come from this fact. Ps: i don’t like this feature cause i’m biased, i’m a reptar main haha

Twiejk I typically do now a days. Im 23. I grew up with games like mw2. In a generation where gaming was meant to be fun. I would dominate because there was no rigged matchmaking back then based on skill. That sort of matchmaking exists in pretty much every game now. I haven’t bought a game since red dead redemption 2 due to this fact. Might actually pick up forza horizon 5 though.

Im 33 by now, when i was playing modern warfare 2. i already noticed people were copying stuff they saw on the internet. using it to their advantage. The massive thing that changed the online behaviour is the information out there that can boost your in-game performance to levels beyond the avarage player in no time. in my/our time we had to find out stuff more on our own. it was up to the person who picked up the fastest to dominate the game. I feel the exact way as you do with alot of games. just your own will to perform isnt good enough anymore. but you do have to realize that there's more people like you out there that just want to play a bit. You are stuck in what alot of people call "matchmaking limbo" you are too good for the casual player, too bad for the competing sweats. You will forever either slaughter a lobby, or get totally destroyed by one. Unless you step your game down a bit, or you actually put effort into getting better. you will never have fun in gaming :P

Twiejk Some of What you say is true but to deny the existence of skilled based matchmaking in a franchise like cod for example is foolish. Yes, exposure to in game advantages do play a role. On the topic of mw2, noobtubes were a great example of this. However, exposure to things like this are not what is responsible for the downfall of gaming. It is 100% matchmaking algorithms. Its not a coincidence that for example, i held a 2.9 kd in mw2 and then when skill based matchmaking was put into place in the newer cods i dropped to a 1.5 kd. Why do you think these youtubers reverse boost? Its so they can play noobs.
