Thank you for stating what many people are trying to reiterate time and time again. It's not about build quality, it's not even about price tags. It's about deep down every European knows that the air of exoticism that hung around their cars and made them into mythical untouchable beasts has long since blow away. We now live in a era, where muscle cars and Japanese sports coupes are equaling/beating some of the best Europe's got to offer. At their own game more or less.

now it seems like this car has been on that lawn forever lol😅 for years, I've seen this car just rest on that grass . and thats it. If you're referring the the cars built by SSC, then you're mistaken on them being kit cars. The SSC is built in an extremely low volume, but it is in fact (barely) considered to be a production vehicle. These were/are fully developed and built in the US by SSC and sold as completed cars.

Instead of commenting on the "stupid name", (not really), can we atleast agree that SSC has FINALLY made a true supercar? I mean yes the Aero was extremely fast but it's styling was clunky and looked like a home-made kit car. This on the other hand, actually reminds me a lot of the '06 Ferrari P4-5, which is astonishing considering this is an American Supercar manufacturer. And yes, I am American.

(sigh). From what it looks like, this car may never see the light of day. It's a huge shame, because this car has one of the coolest and toughest designs I've ever seen! I hate seeing so many proposed supercars from the U.S.A seemingly get delayed indefinitely! I would love to see the U.S.A's supercar game be on par with Europe!

People hate on the name, but its quite clever. If i'm not mistaken the Tuatara is the reptile with the fasting evolving dna of any organism, so there's significance as to why it was chosen over 'Ultimate Aero II'

Just so you know, the Corvette Z06 has posted some of the highest tested lateral G-forces through a corner for any true 'production' car. That's not excluding ultra-expensive supercars like the Bugatti and Pagani, both of which are built in such low volumes they can barely be considered a production car.

So technically, they mentioned someone from Pininfarina long before the Mantide came out, since it was the ONLY source they had at the time.

I'm not sure how much I like it yet, but you can't deny that it's a creative design. One question though, how do the SSC cars qualify for "World's Fastest Production Car". Last time I checked, there where only like 9 Ultimate Aeros. Isn't there a minimum number to be considered production?

@hellosheila The same can be asked of every manufacturer out there. No one has original designs anymore; everything is either based on a previous model or a concept car, just like the Tuatara. It's plain to see that the Pagani Huayra has quite a bit of Zonda DNA in it. The Koenigsegg Agera isn't exactly a a great leap forward from the CCX. The Lamborghini Aventador is basically an update of the Reventon design. And the Bugatti Veyron is based on the Audi Rosemeyer concept(as is the R8).

@hellosheila The Aero was based on a Diablo replica chassis(made by SSC), altered pretty much specifically for optimal aerodynamics, so it's no surprise that the Aero looked like a Diablo. Jerrod admits that it was a case of function over form. He also admits that neither he nor any of the people who work on their cars are designers, hence them hiring Castriota. I'll give you the Diablo one, but if everyone else can borrow from their own designs, I don't see why Castriota can't do the same.

Actually, as much as I love the Veyron it's a fact that it was made to go in a straight line as fast as possible. That was the way VW wanted to revive the name "by making the fastest production car". It's sluggish on corners because it carries too much weight. Yeah luxury was a huge factor too, it was a technical experiment and I think if they built a new car today ,rather than remixing the Veyron, they could easily hit 300mph.

The Veyron was meant to go 268 mph while maintaining its "luxury" aspects...so it's more like a luxury supercar rather than just a regular supercar that was just meant to go fast.
