SSD Asus GL502VS Installation

Quick video on how to swap out the hdd with an SSD drive on the Asus GL502VS!
I'll try to upload game load times using this SSD in the near future!
*dropped my screws, hence the fail... had to look for them for almost 15 minutes...
Specs:
-i7 6700HQ
-Nvidia 1070 8GB
-Samsung DDR4 2133Mhz RAM 16GBx2 = 32GB
-Samsung 950 Pro NVME 256GB
-Crucial MX300 1TB SSD (Game Installed Here)

I'm facing a issue here, I can't boot device it stays stuck at ROG logo and BIOS is unaccessible too... Can someone help me with this. With HDD it's fine but with SSD and HDD or with only SSD it doesn't go further from Logo screen...

hello ı have asus gl 502 ve dm 032 ı think similar as your pc and ı removed bottom plate to upgrade rame but ı dont remember screw position can you help to find these screw position

Thanks for this video. I just purchased this PC and I'm waiting for it in the mail. Did you notice any improvement in battery life after replacing the ssd? Also, would you say you're satisfied with this product? Thanks once agin.

Kei Naarr hey, I almost changed immediately to be honest so I wouldn't know exactly. However, mine lasts for 3 and a half hours on web browsing and videos etc vs others with 3 hours, so ssd could be the reason

Thanks for a fast response, greatly appreciated! 3 hours ? Ouch that's short..Anyway, are you satisfied with this laptop? Any issue? My biggest pet peeves are when trackpads randomly click for no reason (dealbreaker), or issues like screen bleeding, and I heard that this laptop sometimes fires up for no reason while it's shut and in sleep mode when transporting it, and also enters in BIOS mode if left open unattended for too long.

Kei Naarr yeah, saw those issues online but no problems here thus far, all is well. It even ran the Windows Anniversary Update with no issues. only gripes I'd say I have been battery life, thickness(slightly thicker than expected), and some issues with the nvidia graphics driver when I want to connect to an external display which I connect to everyday. all in all though it's a beast. Tried BF4 on a 4k monitor on ultra and it was running at solid 125fps!

Thanks. I'm responding to you from this laptop. It just arrived. So far I'm still testing it. I'm very happy with the display, no bleed, and the build quality is more solid than I expected given that I read so many reviews saying it felt cheap and plastic. Meh, I don't think so. But the trackpad does seem to behave oddly though, and click at random. This unnerves me but it doesn't seem to be as bad as on my Lenovo, but still. Will try to update Nvidia drivers. I'll just remove the installed ones manually and then instal directly from nvidia site, what could go wrong?

I recommend just download geforce experience and let it update from there without uninstalling. Other than that, welcome to the club!

hi! I will add a 500GB ssd to the slot but I've seen that I need to install Windows in the new ssd? I wouldn't mind losing the memory in the original 250gb I have. can I just add the new ssd to the slot?

to the 2.5 inch bay? No, the OS in this laptop came installed in the NVME drive for me (Located just above the drive I am changing), so there was no need to install Windows

What type of screwdriver do I need to crack this open

Differential Equations just a small 4 sided screwdriver (don't know exact size) and a credit card that's all

I think the only screwdriver you need for this specific laptop is precision phillips screwdriver.
