One nice detail would be to partially fill one of the blinker lenses with fluid or something that looks like fluid. You can buy blinker fluid at auto parts stores if you need to change the fluid in your 1 scale car.

You should drill some tiny holes where the trim pieces are missing, and maybe rust around the holes!

As a chevy square body truck owner, damn you nailed it, that thing looks like my old beater farm truck. The cab rear corners also rot out fyi, almost no truck is rust free there unless someone babied it.

Ive owned several of these trucks in various conditions over the years and I gotta say you nailed it, awesome job with the weathering. I especially like that you have some of the chrome trim pieces bent outward from the body, ( my real ones were like that as well ) very realistic and the rust looks spot on. Now if I only had one tenth of the skills that you and Richard have I would be happy.

In regard to the tires, even the new look may have been accurate; as an 'old truck' owner I've put $800 worth of new mud tires on a $400 truck. It's all good. The truck and tires look fantastic, great job.

Pro tip, you can safely strip chrome off of plastic with a degreaser cleaner called "purple power" or "super clean". You can also use it to remove paint without harming the plastic and you can do it indoors. Just soak it for 30 minutes to a few hours (depends on the proceas they used to chrome it or the paint that was used) I used to do this all the time with my scale models that had everything chromed that shouldn't have been or to repaint when I changed my mind on color (read that as when I screwed up a paint job 😉) love your truck and your channel man!

I’m definitely going to have to check out Vallejo’s weathering tutorials because I have a couple trucks in mind for some weathering. I have a “tribute” in mind for my Ranger, and it would need a lot of weathering since the truck was rusty beyond belief thanks to the salty Michigan roads.

You can do rust bubbling by using superglue and baking soda, then layering with random washes in between applying the glue / baking soda ( Such that the wash is actually IN the matrix of glue / baking soda ) I do it by stippling the super glue on first, with random messed up brushes, split toothpicks, etc, then sprinkling the B. soda on it, then apply wash, then repeat until the desired thickness of bubbling is achieved ) Usually I'll build the rust bubbling / wash up first, then also do some separate bubbling in the same area, but painted over to match the body paint, so it looks like it is bubbling up from under the paint as it does in real life. ( A little light wash on those spots makes it look like the rust is starting to bleed out from under the paint ) You can also use Elmer's glue as a mask that is easy to remove and capable of masking far more accurately than tapes

I know it's been 3 years but.... the intake and valve covers would be aluminum and wouldn't rust, but oil leaks and grime would be very appropriate. Otherwise I think you nailed the look of the typical farm truck.
