SSL 231 ~ the silent MONSTER...

After several days of cloudy rainy weather, we finally got some sunshine in Martinique so started our inland tour of the town of St Pierre, at the base of the volcano that completely destroyed the entire city just over 100 years ago... this is part 1 as we dive in to explore a bit more behind the scenes and start to meet some of the people and the culture that lives here in modern day.. Enjoy!

What a beautiful and happy place today to have had such a cataclysmic event in 1902. Thank you for the tour and history. Edgar Cayce had a prediction involving that volcano and Mt. Etna in Italy. It is not a happy prediction if both go off together. Stay safe out there Captain. I really do enjoy your videos.

Rick Moore - I saw the DJI Mavic Pro for sale at the airport in Hong Kong, but it is unusual seeing it listed for over $11,000. Of course that is HKD which worked out to $1400.00 USD so it was no cheaper to get it there. Anyway I think Santa will be hooking me up with a drone for my new surf photography endeavor. Whist I could narrow down the best of the best for the 3k or less budget and place more order.

Nice big sunset had to back it up three times but still no green flash! Bummer. Loved the history, not sure I want to go there after hearing all about it though ;-). Totally unrelated I'm wondering how many watts is your combined panels? I'm by myself and I have like 270watts that keeps the fridge cold and instruments, helm and puters charged. Do you have like 6 times that? How do you guys deal with hot water?Is it run the engine and then a line for showers? With me its either sun shower, cold (I don't have a Russian Goddess so it is needed more than I like to admit) or go stinky. Bet people would be interested in that aspect of the yachty life, you know the solar all the MPPT shunts and the like and that treasured hot water..

I'm currently running 1200w of solar power, and still have 300w in reserve that aren't hooked up yet... we use a lot of power to keep 4-5 computers running, along with 18cu ft of fridge and freezer space.. but with the sun retreating to the Southern hemisphere right now, we will be hooking up the extra solar panels to compensate for the less direct sunlight during the fall and winter days.

Apparently the models with plastic handles made from 1973 until Aug. 2017 don't always discharge. There has been at least 1 death so far.
