Best thing ever getting our animals back from the processor. The sausage they made from it was the best ever! 2 pigs, pork chop and spare rib, made our family very happy and very full. Same with our black angus cow, yummy!

Good haul. When your ready to stain that fence, I found some excellent stain that is very reasonably priced. The brand is called "ready seal" and it is sold at lowes, home depot and online at amazon. Very easy and cheap to apply. Lots of videos on YT about the brand. You wont be disappointed.

That's a freezer full of YUM right there! We have to buy a hog and have it butchered by the Amish, but we know it's grass fed and no chemicals used. Each February we get the hog and half a cow. YUM! Blessings to you from NE Missouri!

Many benefits besides knowing where your food comes from and bacon. I would like to see some bean counter add up all the pounds of pork if it is cost effective as it sells from $1.50 to $3 per pound. The business to be in sounds like processing, if it can be done onsite that really would boost usability.
@skidmorefamilyfarm1125 жыл бұрын
People are going to say that's extremely expensive. If you priced it all out at what the grocery stores charge you get it for 50 to 75 percent cheaper. I don't mean Walmart's sale price. Look at what high end meat costs. There's no comparison with store bought and home raised. We're on our way to becoming more self sufficient. You dedication is very inspiring. Keep up the hard work!

Good video. We have two 1300 # steers being processed. We always have a grilled steak the night we get back with our meat. God has blessed you - as He has us. Keep the video's coming. Question, did you eat the boar that tried to eat you? I would have.

@SSLFamilyDad5 жыл бұрын
I started to try and figure that out but it became to time consuming trying to add it all up. It seems to be quite a bit cheap since I offset the cost of feed by selling piglets but otherwise it would not be worth it

When Todd and I were away at the hospital for a few days, our neighbors were texting us saying he was continually showing signs of very aggressive behavior (tearing through fencing and trying to attack our other animals) and our daughters were home taking care of the farm, so we just couldn't chance it and had to have a friend put him down. Our friends tried everything they could, but George was on a rampage, so we had to make that tough choice.
