The smaller the diameter, the more the revolutions per minute (in the majority of cases). In order to have a greater static pressure and have a decent cfm. There is nothing special about a high-speed 90mm fan.

actually I have a DELL laptop from 2010, which was quite powerful back in the day, and it's currently my only PC running Windows Vista

all my dell laptops or desktop from before 2001 even if bought during 2016. Recently won a laptop dell m6500 on ebay few months ago works perfectly all I had to do was replace some parts like keyboard and whole back front case thing. Upgraded it to 32gb ram and works wonderfully. Ya dell did have issues with making motherboards malfunction quickly but they learned not to give me defective parts sooner or later. I used my warranty with them to the point they sent me out a whole new basically rebuild of my system laptop dell studio 1747 that I put together. If you got a dell always buy the extra 3 year warranty or so cause they discontinue the product very quickly and it will fail in less then 3 years if it even reaches 2 years.

I have a great way to permanently delete a hard drive: make a small holle, fill with gunpowder or even better nitroglycerine and detonator. once did that and a supersonic part of head moving magnet just missed me a bit and landed imbedded 2-3 cm deep into solid brick wall ;-) WOAHA! i miss those days ;-) Now this is just pointless destruction what you do here, it is no thrill if you kill it, but it does not have a posibility to kill you, like described above ;-)

Well there was much more chance to blow up during synthesizing it from nitric and sulfuric acid "borrowed" at school lab, and glycerine borrowed at home. That was part of the fun i guess... we did use shallow plastic container for the reaction in open space tho... so there would be no hard shrapnels flying around (before HDD turbodelete "fueling operation" at least)
