I love this movie so much. Enjoyed every song, too. Made me cry so many times. It does St Francis of Assisi justice. The actor is great and seems to understand St Francis' love for God and His creation through nature and the living things in it -- big or small.

Franco Zeffirelli is an unfairly underrated director, juste because he was a conservative catholic... May be his Brother Sun, Sister Moon contains some soppy scenes, but it is pure spirituality and a beautiful way to show his love of God. The Taming of the Shrew, and especially Romeo and Juliet and Jesus of Nazareth, as well as this film, are masterpieces.

@@katperson7332 Good question. The only reason I believe you would receive the English language spoken version, if that's the one you want, is because that's how it was originally produced anyway. I don't even know if there Is an Italian version, probably but don't know for sure. The Great songs by Donovan live on. 💜

If our beloved Saint Francis of Assisi were to have been born and lived in the time of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Saint Francis would have been His other Apostle. Easily. 🙌🏼✝️ But instead He placed Saint Francis in a time where Jesus needed to restore, and transform His church to the way it was meant to be since the beginning. For it had lost their way a long the way. However, Jesus teaches us here that from time to time He heals any broken body, and make it new.

I like this clip too, but how many people realize that this is theology from the 1970's? This really misrepresents the theology of Francis himself.
