I’m a Liverpool fan and love Anfield to death. But St James’ Park is my favourite stadium in the entire world, SOOO cool! I hate symmetrical stadiums, so boring. I hate Emirates, London and Etihad, miss Highbury, Boleyn Ground and Maine Road… I hope Palace, Wolves, Villa and Chelsea NEVER tear down their stadium, but rather builds on it.

I remember, as a Glaswegian, meeting my friend who was studying nursing at the RVI. We arranged to meet in a pub beside the stadium in the mid 90's. I will never forget this huge construction coming into view and how it dwarfed it's surroundings. Being a Celtic supporter, I was used to seeing magnificence on a grand scale, but this was still impressive for a football ground.

Took Sir John Hall to really develop the stadium. The previous owners, even in good times, with the place packed every week, seemed to spend very little on comfort for fans. Onwards and upwards!

But I have a bad feeling the consortium will want to move it for capacity purposes, (to Town Moor i presume as it's been suggested for years now). Fingers crossed it won't happen. I'd rather not find a ticket than ruin the legacy for the sake of capacity

The far right stand cannot be made any taller as properties behind are grade 2, listed. Also not many clubs go beyond 60k, Arsenal & Spurs never went far beyond 60k.

It looks PERFECT! Coolest stadium in the world! Would look like crap if the roof went all the way around. Previous owner considered to make the top stands go all the way around, it would increase to roughly 90 000. This was about 10 years ago, I believe. But he was unsure of the future. Ended up selling just last year.

If possible...it would take the capacity to 70k, they could get the ground to 60k by extending the gallowgate behind the goal.

Yes. Unlike the other answer here, I think it would become 90k if it went all the way around. I read about this. The previous owner considered in 10 years back or so. But scrapped it and sold it last year. Wembley is "only" 87(?) and Old Trafford is 76.

1:15 in is what st james' looked like when I first ever went in the late 80's and into the early 90's even if I remember correctly.anyone remember the old bogs...wow they were real public lavvys them I can tell you that the smell of piss was bezerk...I remember reading above the oissa..."CLAP YOUR HANDS,JUMP FOR JOY,I EAS HERE BEFORE KILROY" ... ✌️🐜
