The greatest step I ever took towards God was the time I truly wanted to believe. It was during pentecost feast mass. I used to be angry and sad most of the time, absolute spoiled idiot I’ve been. At the sight of so many people receiving Holy Communion with such ease and humility, I noticed they were happy, downright content, achieving the peace I wanted. I just wished for it. I wanted to believe like THEY did. Immediately afterwards, something disgusting fled from my mouth, I could smell it momentarily, and I was overcome with a little bit of Joy. I’m never forgetting this, ever. I think I’ve grown quite a bit in virtue since then. Needless to say, I have no intentions of stopping midway through this Holy Mountain. I want to grow in Hope and Charity, now that I have Faith. Glory be to God.

Thank you for this Father. I am trying my very best to believe again after being very religious for years. These sermons are certain helping me and one of you lines about people being afraid to believe in God really stood out for me. I pray for you all and ask you humbly to pray for me.

Amazing! God doesn't hide Himself, we cannot see Him because of our sins, specifically pride. It's an us" problem, not a God problem.

"I don't believe in God because I don't want to believe in God." I think that very fairly sums up the truth. But why don't people want to believe in God? Because they are deluded by the Father of Lies into thinking that God stands in the way of their desires and even self-fulfillment. It's the old theme of "For God knows that when you eat it, you will become like God..." But the truth in Christ is that God is love and He wants us to become like Him. Yes, this involves self-denial and even dying to self. But the word of God is worthy of our fullest trust. And there is no other way to happiness. "Lord, to whom should go? For you have the words of everlasting life."

Exactly. True belief in God will change one's life, and so many people just don't want to turn away from their sins.

@@tgbluewolf Atheism and Skepticism go hand to hand. The scientist that the preist couldn't remember his name and that appears in the video image is Richard Dawkins, one of the so called "New Atheists". He is a liar and very anti-religious bigot Who HATES God and promotes Darwin's stupid Theory of evolution and says that Science rules and religion is dumb. I just call him Richard Straw-kins, because all of te arguments he uses to attack religion, faith and miracles are nothing but strawman

One thing that you notice with some atheist arguments and media as well is they sometimes start from the premise of convincing you that God is an evil tyrant... and then that He doesn't even exist. For example, when I was an early teen I saw on KZbin (and sometimes a bit on TV) stuff from Dawkins and Hitchens, but also videos like "10 times God did terrible things in the Bible" which was mostly out of context passages of the OT for the most part. Also, sometimes content sympathetic to Satan as a metaphorical symbol of liberation. Not literally real of course ;). This first turns you against God, then comes the arguments that God is just a figment of mans imagination and that it's all nonsense, and even if it's real, God is a tyrant so you'd not want to worship him anyway. Sometimes, this attitude often goes hand in hand.

All we need is to show people love. I disagree. What we need to show them is Truth. Love is only valid when it comes from God and obeys his laws.

You'll one day be shocked how Holy the Pope is .......he is misunderstood many times and those who know and love him don't worry because like Jesus they twist his words n all n that's great because he is carrying the cross and the cross is redeeming always so feel free to say what you want about him ......if you want you can seek the truth if not on his behalf I say thank you for everything..... For everything works for the good of those who love him.
