I could not understand why Bosco's coach gave up on the running game in the 4th quarter. In the 3rd Mater Dei could not stop the Bosco backs. They marched right down the field for a touchdown. They were averaging about 6 yds per carry at that point. When Mater Dei took a 3 point lead seems like Bosco coaches panicked or something. They couldn't pass consistently all night. Why would that change suddenly in the 4th? He should have stuck to his ground game.

Maybe a bit, but it was #1 v #2. The thing is, imo, this was SJB’s best shot bc MD is young and still gelling. Then again, SJB has a lot of transfers, so they’re getting used to each other, too. SJB has more dudes with offers, but MD is better at QB, RB, OL, and coaching, and that ultimately wins ball games. SJB could pull a shocker again like ‘19, of course, but this young MD team has more upside than this hired gun SJB team and, barring injury, with another 6-7 games under its best before they meet SJB again, probably wins by 2-3 TDs in the ship. We shall see, tho….
