I’m St. Louis born and raised. People here really do eat tons of imos, toasted ravioli and gooey butter cake. Our Chinese restaurants also serve something called a St. Paul sandwich which is very popular and you can’t get it outside of St. Louis. It’s an egg foo young patty served on white bread with mayo and pickles. Sounds weird but is seriously good.

Of course i was raised on imos and i appreciate all styles of pizza, but a well prepared and baked pizza from imos is my favorite. Sausage and mushroom is my go to.

Jim Gaffigan, thanks for coming to St Louis. Somehow I missed this but will catch you the next time. IMO’s is a slow addiction. They cut it up into squares so you take a slice and think, “oh it’s just a few bites.” That’s how they get you. Blink and you’ve e eaten the whole pizza. Somehow the provolone mixes with the right amount of grease and sauce on that thin crust. And boom you’re addicted and on your way to rehab. Toasted ravs are a really deep fried flavor ravioli. You are right that it seems a southern take on ravs. Deep fry everything. Gooey butter cake is just death by butter and sugar. A few bites and welcome to diabetes. Welcome to St Louis always. Stay healthy. You are one of the funniest comics out there.

As a Chicagoan, it needs to be noted: as a population, we eat more thin crust than deep dish. I feel like the national perspective is that we only pound down deep dish, but thin crust is the more commonly consumed pizza. This STL pizza looks good.
