St Mary's Island | Jog Waterfalls | Karnataka | Ep 6 of South Indian Trip

This is 6'th episode of our South Indian trip and today we are visiting Jog waterfalls and St Marry's island. This Islands are a set of four small islands in the Arabian Sea near to Udipi, Karnataka, India. They are known for their distinctive geological formation of columnar rhyolitic lava. And Jog waterfall is a famous tourist place in Shimoga district of Karnataka.
നമ്മുടെ സൗത്തിന്ത്യൻ യാത്രയുടെ ആറാമത്തെ എപ്പിസോഡിൽ ആദ്യം പോകുന്നത് കർണാടകയിലെ ഷിമോഗ ജില്ലയിലുള്ള ജോഗ് വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടത്തിലേക്കാണ്. അതുകഴിഞ്ഞ് നാഗവല്ലിയെന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിലൂടെ ഉഡുപ്പിയിലുള്ള St Mary's ദ്വീപിലേക്കായിരുന്നു യാത്ര. പണ്ട് അഗ്നിപർവതം പൊട്ടി ഉണ്ടായ ഈ ദ്വീപിനെ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ 34 നാഷണൽ ജിയോളജിക്കൽ സ്മാരകങ്ങളിലൊന്നായി സംരക്ഷിച്ചു പോരുന്നു. ഈ യാത്രയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള എന്തെങ്കിലും സംശയങ്ങൾ ചോദിക്കാനുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ you can message me in instagram.

We visited Jog Falls in 1993, while we were studying in Mangalore.....Nostalgic feeling. Thanks for getting back to old memories bro. We used to park our bikes at Malpe Beach even at late night on those days.... We had a feasting on the beach as well

Jog falls is not individual fall but it’s made of four different falls. These four falls are Raja, Rani, Rocket and Roarer. These four falls drop-down at full speed and their collaboration is called “The Jog falls”. Out of these four falls, Raja is the highest waterfall at around 830 ft and it joins the roar at the centre point. Rani is yet another waterfall that is named so due to its smooth and graceful drop.
