Hard to fathom being refused care by hospital staff, where people go to get help! I was a nurse, when I was younger, and took care of a lot of Hospice patients, all backgrounds, races and sexual orientations. What mattered to me and our care team, was keeping our patients comfortable, treating thei pain, giving them care and comforting thei family. I met some interesting people, and learned so much, just by listening to their stories and observing their culture. We are not heee to judge others on earth, as Jesus said to love one another, as Christ loves us.. if there is judgement to be done, God will take care of that, at His appointed time! So glad you found help at the other hospital! The first one that rejected you because of race, should be shut down! 🙏❤️✌️😷

My husband had shortness of breath for months and we went in ER at least 6 times, they took chest X-rays and told us all was ok not to worry every time we went in. There is a perception that people that present that way are stronger and hardier than their white counterparts and they are treated as though nothing is wrong. I had a co-worker that was stunned when I took a sick day for the first time in two years. She said "I thought you were indomitable". Just because I don't whine about every ache and illness and wouldn't take time off work for an emergency tongue procedure from a massage therapist. You read that right. As a nurse, I have seen and heard a lot of inequality in health care services even when they are educated and have the best health insurance. I seen this happen and i been to the e.r where ppl come in complaining of chest pain and they just have them sit in the waiting room i know in the e.r they supposed to take the serious cases first yet soneone complains of chest pain and they treat them last racial discrimination is everywhere white ppl control this is why we do need our own community again because the unfairness is real i've witnessed it and have experienced it myself

My doc is black, my kids pediatrician is black. My accountant is black. Im not sayin but im just sayin. I heard the same thing about black pregnant women as well

Oh please! My mothers best friends dr husband is black. That Man is 89-90 and not sure he’s even retired yet because few years ago he still was working. That man has allegedly been the cause of many deaths since 1960. I’ll stick to my white dr. Has nothing to do with black or white. Also, I’ve been screwed more by black companies than white. I took my daughter to the ER in California because she was having horrible anxiety. The doctor told her se was just there for drugs. We didn't take her back there. It turned out her heart was mis- firing and she had to have heart surgery.

I'm called "confrontational", "angry black woman" or told that I'm a bitter old nurse who "eats their young". It makes you not want to go to work. It makes you tired. It makes you lose hope. It makes you slowly not care anymore.

I had a major surgery in California at one of the countries so called best teaching hospitals. They almost killed me. I'm diabetic and they had been giving me glucose drips. I was in intensive care for 21 days. I initially was supposed to be home in 4 days. It's just crazy.

A friend of mine went to the hospital three times for a severe migraine. It was so bad her eyeball was literally sticking out of its socket. They said she was "med seeking" and sent her home. She went to another hospital, the Dr took one look and rushed her into emergency surgery. She was leaking brain fluid on to the base of her spine. If she would've waited just hours longer, she would've died

I'm so sorry for your loss. This happened to my Uncle many years ago. He went to hospital for chest pains, shortness of breath, arm pain, dizziness. The nurse did her thing then set him back out in the waiting room. Within 5 minutes, he had a massive heart attack and died in the waiting room. 😭. My Aunt refused to sue or press charges. This was devastating. Both my auntie and uncle were white, so it doesn't only happen to african americans. My point is that no matter who you are, hospitals have a standing policy that if a patient has chest pain, no matter their color or how many times they have been to ER, hospitals are supposed to immediately hook them up to ekg monitor. Obviously they didn't with my uncle or your husband. This is so sad. The outcome may have been different had the hospital staff done what they were supposed to do. Again, I am so very sorry for your loss. Prayers for peace and comfort for you and your family.

This did the same thing to my mom. She died two weeks ago. The hospital staff was horrible to her. We end up finding her dead in the morning it was horrible. I feel for her.
