A friend of mine, (Mike Stymest), was in David Fosters first band. (The Canadian Strangers). In Davids book "Hitman", there are pics of Mike with Chuck Berry. Sadly, Mike is gone now. RIP gentle soul.

Wow! To say "proud Canadian" is an understatement. :)

I know this should be about the cause talked about, but my mind is just blown to see footage from Good Rockin Tonite for the first time in what, 30 years? Used to stay up late to watch it all the time when I was a young teen :)

The irony is that Bruce Allen became Anne's manager after her manager and friend died, and made her last 12 years in the music industry wonderful, without her even having a hit. Bruce is the type of person who gets things done by busting balls, but you want on your side.

Anne Murray did have a platinum-selling album in 2008 in the U.S. - "Anne Murray Duets: Friends and Legends". Her final new album was a Christmas album, released in October 2008, then she officially retired.

June 2020 After all these years, most of the "stars" are either gone or retired except ............. Bryan Adams. He is still on top. Still writing new music, still recording, still performing to massive sellout crowds all over the planet. He is an international superstar.

Actually, quite a few are still active, including Neil Young, Burton Cummings, Corey Hart, Bruce Cockburn, Dan Hill, Geddy Lee, Tom Cochrane, Jane Siberry and Mike Reno. Even Joni Mitchell has returned to doing live performances.

@@Lupin788 Yes somewhat active as in Burton Cummings. Now Neil Young is a washed up has been who could not sing or carry a tune even in his "prime". His lefty views are not welcome.

@@peggyt1243 If by "lefty views", you mean caring about the underprivileged and the environment, you've just described all the participants of "Tears Are Not Enough", including Bryan Adams. As for being washed up, I guess that depends on your definition. All of them are in their 60s and 70s now. Though Young is 78, he's still touring and released a new album at the end of 2023. He's always been known for his off-key singing.

@@Lupin788 Neil Young had a right royal tantrum in Alberta about "global warming". Although he is Canadian, he did not know about chinooks.
