2021 anyone? This game still takes up a big spot in my heart, I was little and I remember my mother playing with me sitting behind her watching. and when I got older I tried to play by myself and I was so consumed by the story and soundtrack that sometimes I think it was all a big dream

It just feels like a sword in the heart a really good and emotional one. I love how the story and the whole game can be described by music and this proves it but I am still really scared after the alt and normal endings. (Do not search it if you are too deep emotionally and have not seen it yet.)

Very few games can achieve what this game has. A true focus on the immersive quality of art and music. Throughout the game, it invites you to a sense of passion that delivers itself with it's simple mechanics but more importantly; a thought provoking emotional rollercoaster of visuals & sounds. 10/10 for being one of the few games brave enough to take us there and back (no time traveling pun intended).

The best word to describe this game is Magical. With a capital M. That's because it's not only just a good game. It's as engaging with your emotions as the best movie that will make you cry. This is just perfect. The music, the story, the character you don't even know but feel so closely related to. I can't even explain it more, cause more words will simply destroy what has been said. Much props.

I recall many a time when I just wanted to relax, read, or sleep, and I would leave on my Xbox just to hear this music (especially from the second world). Soothing and fantastic, all in one, not forgetting how fantastic the game is as well. It takes on a narrative that creates a unique, complex, and extremely entertaining story for everyone and anyone to play and enjoy. If this game does not become a classic in the video game industry, then we have failed as a society to recognize something easily identifiable as a modern-day Mona Lisa equivalent.

The creators of Braid licensed nearly all of their music from existing albums on Magnatune. I remember listening to Downstream and the Luliby Set years before Braid come out. Also, if you liked Downstream, check out a tune called "A Son Do Ar", which appears to be the source of one of it's melodys.

[Inspired by Braid] As Tim ponders the ebb and flow of time, he interrogates it, brow furrowed. It slips away from him like a fleeting tide. Upon chasing it down, his mind waxes and wanes like the moon itself. Was his dark brighter than his light? Tim stands knee deep in water, watching the moon enveloped in drifting clouds. In the distance, he discerns an island, its shadowy form revealing the outline of a castle atop its peaks. He finds a rowboat near a distant pier, stealing it in the sleepless night like time itself. With sharp resolve, he penetrates the waves that splash against his shoddy vessel. His eyes never leave the island but for a glance at the ephemeral moon, soon to be outshone by dawn's light. The castle was close. Tim disembarks. Exasperated, he clambers his way to the castle, only to observe how the rocks had been worn down over time. Tide and riptide erode even the most resilient structures. The castle gradually betrayed by sunken land, Tim rests against its rocks, a sunken man.

Some say it's a story of a toxic relationship. Other say it's a story of the atom bomb. Both are beside the underlying point. Braid is a parable of passion-turned-obsession and the ensuing collateral damage when the obsessed finally gets what he thought he wanted. In that regard, it is an absolute masterpiece.
