Sir ask ko lang po paano ma consider na isang buo yung member sa steel design? Ex. If you have 12meters i beam and you will use it as a column. How can staad consider it as a whole?

Sir ask ko lang, bakit ni release mo ung Fx? Hindi mo ina allow na mag carry sya ng Reaction along X-Axis? Zero din ata reaction na makukuha mo sa Fz? Dapat Fz ang naka release?

Fx release po kasi treated as roller support. Bale inaallow po siyang mag move along the x direction. Pero kailangan mo din idesign yung support niya in such a way na iaallow mo magkaroon ng movement along the global x axis while sa z direction restrained siya.

Hi sir. Ask lang. You said the TC and BC should be analyzed as continuous beam, but if thats the case. Shouldnt u define the Lz of the TC and BC so that staad pro will classify it as a "whole member" But in the vid since, di nakaassign yung Lz, nakaanalyze yung TC and BC kay staad as putol putol. Pa enlighten lang sir baka mali din po ang intindi ko. TC- top chord, BC - bot chord

Hello! hindi natin sinet yung Lz (effective length) as a whole kasi may stiffener along the joints. (web members and/or stiffener trusses). So even though whole members sila, yung effective lengths naman nila is putol putol. :) Yung sa sinabi na icoconsider siyang whole member, what we meant there is that meron siyang moments (unlike sa traditional truss analysis na axial forces lang nag aact).
