I love taking a speculative Chemical X on Silent. It's tough for me to pass up. There are just so many good X-cost cards. The last time I took one speculatively, I found a Malaise in the next floor.

Would it be possible if you could put the date the run is from in the description? I watch the vod channel aswell and I can't tell if I have watched this before ngl
@dbarnes89233 ай бұрын
You don't remember if you watched an entire video but you'll remember a random date on said video?
@gux31723 ай бұрын
@dbarnes8923 I watch the Unedited VODS channel that posts his content earlier than this channel. If he put the date in the description on this channel, I could look on the Unedited VODS channel and see if I have watched the run already as the VODS channel has the date the stream was done on it I'm pretty sure. I watch a ton of this content and I have realised it can be difficult for me to tell if I have seen a run or not when I'm watching runs on both channels. It is a pretty niche problem I must admit but I'd imagine it would be rather easy for the editor to put the date in the description and I would appreciate it
@Baalorlord3 ай бұрын
I'll keep it in mind for future uploads
@Baalorlord3 ай бұрын
I've considered it, but we already have the run history link in the description, which can tell you the date (by hovering over the "x days ago"). I don't want to bloat the description, so I think that should be good enough

Jorbs has talked about this, most (all?) of the best players play very algorithmically, many having spreadsheets to help them track success with certain decisions, but with every run being exponentially more complex than a game of chess, with hundreds to thousands of complex factors to consider from before even entering floor 1, its near impossible to make an ai that will be able to achieve a high winrate

Buying Chemical X when you have no X-cost cards and a deck with hardly anything in it is certainly a play...
@DanielMcVicker3 ай бұрын
Silent has three X-cost cards in her pool, all of which are made much stronger by chemX. With something like 98% of the game remaining to be played it makes finding and exploiting those synergies possible. I would argue that one possible line is chemX plus concentrate, which also plays into that synergy. Then you can look for cards like skewer, reflex, expertise and possibly tactician, all of which are uncommon. Add in terror (also uncommon) and you have card draw, energy, and massive damage in a tidy package, without considering rares. Just like clicking orange pellets without having a wraith form already in your deck, its one of those shop relics that is so strong on Silent that it can be worth prospectively picking one up to shape your deck around, especially since you won't see it again in the same run if you don't buy it now.
@MrColinsworth13 ай бұрын
I think Baalor would admit that taking Chemical X was a mistake in that specific context though. Dash + Block Potion + Card Remove was the play. Taking the The Bomb was also a better option. He was basically guaranteed to take a bunch of damage on that first elite.
