I bought a Manta Montage used in 1995...It had a full tube chassis with transverse Chev v6 and Koni coil over shocks. Ripped it out and put in a healthy 350 Chev with a Porsche transaxle. Went like hell and handled like it was on rails. I was the only guy with anything like that for miles around The Vancouver BC area. Loved Hardcastle...And dreamed of owning one one day. Still have the hood emblem.

There was only ever one M6GT built by McLaren. There were three more built in period by Trojan. Bruce's car still has 0BH 100H tags on it and currently resides in Chicago after spending 10 years in a collection in Alberta, Canada.

Hardcastle And McCormick was awesome!! The judge with his convertible 60’s corvette. The “coyote x” was awesome!! Even if it was smoke and mirrors and Hollywood. The body looked great! And no kits looked that good for decades!!
@michaelbrinks808924 күн бұрын
I like the Coyote's body style with the flat rear window but the flat rear window body shape is less aerodynamic than the sloped bubble shaped rear of the OG M6GT ..... Similar to how the early C3 Corvettes use a flat rear window with rear pillars. While the 78-82 use the more aerodynamic curved glass. Along with the C4- C8

I have been watching Strickland Racing for a while now. His chassis is a work of art. He can customize it for you to fit a Manta Mirage, Montage, Lambo Countach, Diablo, or his own Chupacabra (I think he got sued by Lamborghini). There are multiple videos of his build process on YT. I would love to build a Countach with his chassis, but I've got to get my C6Z06 on the road first.

Still remember the old days back when Stacey and the other host brought vehicles to NADC to get paintwork done. I believe crazy horse was one of them if I'm not mistaken. I think it was a build series between 1st gen bronco and blazers. Would love to work with some companies doing advertising to get equipment to start a business building "toys", before my father passes so he can see things aren't going to fall apart without him..

to make it wider in the interior put a single gas tank in the middle. So then it's safer and adds more room.

Aluminum also corrodes / weakens, with age. Which has me curious about spray coating it in Line-X which would make it super tough & stop corrosion. Along as Aluminum & Line-X play well with each other long term. The line x would add weight but the chassis could be built with slightly less aluminum. Then greatly reinforced with the line x coating. It might also help with sound.. I love the idea of a 1750 lb M6GT replica daily driver with a smaller lighter K24 turbo engine & option of sport mode & fuel economy mode. So the lightweight car, could be diven in a 40 mpg eco mode.. Then when you wanna play, flip a switch to sport mode. I find turbo manual gearbox cars more engaging to drive.. With the boost, the engine noise, plus the turbo noises.

Curious question for you. Two years ago; yeah, I know a long time ago, you did a episode called Vintage Hot Rod Straight Six & Painting Candy Colors - Stacey David's Gearz Full Episode S3 E11 where at the 6:05 mark, you showed a Speedway Motors after market intake for three one barrel carburetors. Could these Holley Sniper one barrel carbs fit that too?
@OfficialStaceyDavid2 ай бұрын
The Sniper EFI 1-barrels shown in this episode are meant as a direct replacement for the Autolite 1100. It's possible that the Snipers will fit, but it probably won't be a direct bolt-in.

Awesome car, but I die a little every time i hear someone use the word "unobtanium" from maybe the most overrated movie of all time, Avatar. I think I audibly groaned the first time I heard it in the movie. Sounds like a placeholder word in the script that they forgot to replace when they came up with a better one.

Are seriously gonna bolt those hideous wheels on THAT car? The original style wheel is KICK ASS. McLaren was one of the only cars on the planet to have a killer four spoke wheel, very unique.
