@tobiassabot5851Ай бұрын
I've been watching your videos for a while now, but this reaction was the one that made me subscribe. I'm watching this on Sunday November 3rd. My Late wife's Birthday.. Ten years ago we lost her to Cancer. Of course I know this song and video. I saw it growing up as a kid. Later on it haunted me. Watching you watch this I lived the whole thing again. Meeting her, courting her. marrying her loving her for the not quite twelve years we had. Then the pain, the fear. her death. The grief and the loss. All of it relived in less then ten minutes. Ever since Jodi's passing, I could never cry for her without some music around. That grief, still so heavy, I can never release it without help. This is one of those songs that helps me do that and you just happened to post it so I saw it on her Birthday. I could remember, cry a little while and see all of it again, so vividly. I feel like it ought to be raining, but the sun's shining brightly here. It's life, it's death. We can't change it, all we can do is remember. It hurts, but that's because it was the real deal, the one, the only. And the strange thing is we both loved taking walks in the cold November rain. I'm walking for both of us now, and thanks for bringing it back for me today. My own little memorial to help me process once again what can never truly be processed. It hurts, but it helps. It lowers the pressure, lets some of it out. Why I appreciate the music so much. Great reaction.

Without You Del's short story Without You is credited by hard rock band Guns N' Roses as the inspiration for the song November Rain and its music video. Most of the plot is told in the form of flashbacks. Mayne Mann, aged 28, is a top-selling rock musician. But the suicide of his girlfriend Elizabeth has left him depressive and questioning the meaning behind everything. Although Elizabeth had been the love of Mayne's life, his frequent infidelity had brought about the end of their relationship. The last straw was when after Mayne's final concert with his previous band, Elizabeth had walked in on a threesome between him and two groupies. In the aftermath, during one of their last dates, Elizabeth had told him, "I can't live with you and I can't live without you." Her words had inspired him to write the ballad Without You, which portrays his view on their breakup and has become a top hit. When his new band went on tour and performed in Elizabeth's hometown L.A., he had sent her backstage passes. When she did not show up, Mayne had been determined not to repeat his past mistake, had skipped the after party and gone straight to her home. As Mayne was on his way up to her apartment, Elizabeth had shot herself in the head, with Without You playing on an endless loop in the background. In a rush, Mayne had taken the revolver from her dead hand and tried to shoot himself, but there had been no more bullets left. Life in the fast lane has taken his toll on Mayne: he has hearing issues, is a heavy drinker and drug consumer and, presumably as a result of his girlfriend's suicide, on various kinds of medication. He avoids things that bring back memories of Elizabeth, such as the mansion in which they had spent most of their time, or radio stations that might play Without You. The story begins as Mayne, after a night of heavy drinking and drug consumption, awakes from a recurring nightmare in which he relives Elizabeth's suicide. Still hung over from the previous night, he starts the day with a beer and eventually spends the whole morning with alcohol, drugs and memories of Elizabeth. In a fit of rage he begins to smash the furniture in his apartment and even most of his collection of vintage guitars, suddenly seeing them as the gateway to his fame and his misery. He briefly considers shooting himself but then changes his mind and starts to play, first on his favorite and last remaining guitar, then on the piano. In the meantime, a burning cigarette which has fallen off the edge of a table has set the apartment on fire. Yet Mayne ignores it and continues to play until he dies in the flames.

Good reaction, Stacey. But just to explain the video, it was actually the 2nd part of a 3-part song/video series by GnR. Anyway, the story is, that Axl Rose's character had a fiancè, but he cheated on her and she ended up taking her own life with a gun. The entire wedding scene is him dreaming of himself and his then-alive fiancè actually getting married. But that wedding ceremony never actually took place. What actually took place at the church was her funeral rites. Also regarding the fiancè's casket, that mirror in there is next to her face since she took her own life. That practice (with the mirror in the casket) is an old Catholic custom, if I'm not mistaken. I'm Catholic, but I only vaguely recall that, so I'm not 100% certain. Also, hinted at in the music video is the fact that friends are there for you during the happy times, as symbolized by the packed wedding and wedding reception. But 'friends' are not there for you during the hard times, as symbolized by the sparsely-attended funeral service.
@aragorn1ringАй бұрын
In the story, he cheated on her repeatedly and tried to make amends but she's broken and she shoots herself in front of him. In the video, the wedding is a dream and only the funeral is real. He wakes up at the end because the dream turned into reality.

The man in the top hat is Slash and you were laughing about the church scene. When GNR won their first music award the whole band showed up drunk (at least) and Slash did not disappoint (nor the rest for that matter) to make quite a spectacle when accepting their award.

If you want to go down the Guns n' Roses Rabbit hole . . . be prepared!! There are sooo many songs that will leave an impression on you . . . Welcome to the Jungle - Sweet Child of Mine - Civil War - Estranged - Paradise City - My Michelle - Don't Cry . . . . And here is a tidbit of info for you since you are a huge Queen fan . . Axl Rose joined Queen for a tribute to Freddie Mercury on April 20, 1992. Even though he was older and out of shape . . . his voice was still awesome!! BTW the guy with the puffy hair . . . is one of the greatest guitarists of our time . . . Great reaction . . . You nailed it . . . NEXT UP - Styx

Keep in mind of how talented Axl Rose is. He composed this song, the piano and the strings. It is an Epic song. In the story the video is based on she kills herself because he cheated on her and she couldn't move passed it. That's why the mirrored casket. Axl has a 5 octive range. He's just AMAZING ❤

That guy with poofy hair is Slash. He is a legend on his own rights. One of the best guitarists

I've heard people say Slash is overrated as a guitarist because his playing isn't very complex or precise. I'm not a musician, so I don't know if that's true or not, but I do know that when he plays I feel an emotional force behind the riffs. To me, that ability alone sets him apart.

I'm sure others have clarified. When she's getting in the car after the wedding, she doesn't look happy. This song is about love with someone that is depressed. When she's in the casket, notice there's a mirror that's hiding the left side of her face. I always thought that was indicating she shot herself. Such a great, moving song.

Fun fact: You will *never* be cooler than Slash smoking a cigarette and playing guitar while standing outside of a church in the middle of the desert. The “top hat guy” is Slash, and yes he’s everyone’s favorite GnR member lol. 🤘

In the late 1980s, Slash and Stephanie's paths crossed in the midst of the rock world’s chaos. Slash was shining as the lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses, while Stephanie was at the top of the fashion world, making headlines with her turbulent relationship with Axl Rose. It all began during the filming of the November Rain music video. When Slash was performing his iconic solo scene in a desert-like setting, he caught a glimpse of Stephanie in her wedding dress. As he looked over at her with a warm smile in the wedding scene, an invisible connection formed between them, as if they had just truly discovered one another beyond the scene itself. Throughout the shoot, their conversations deepened. Slash's passion for music and Stephanie’s elegance created a hidden bond that Axl wasn’t aware of. Slash could see the vulnerability in Stephanie, a quiet sadness beneath her glamorous exterior. Stephanie, in turn, saw beyond Slash's rock-star persona and sensed a fragile spirit within him. Both were alone in their own worlds, but together, even if only briefly, the shadows seemed to lift. One evening after filming, they met at a quiet bar. As the November rain poured down the windows, they talked for hours about guitars, life, and memories. Slash played Stephanie a melody that had been haunting him, and they both knew they’d never forget this night. But they also understood that their special connection could never overshadow Stephanie’s commitment to Axl. In the days that followed, Slash and Stephanie remained as memories in each other’s lives. Slash wove the melody he’d played for her into one of his later songs. Stephanie, meanwhile, held on to the memory of Slash, carrying their brief, unforgettable moments in a secret corner of her heart. And every time the November rain fell, they both remembered that night-a fleeting but true friendship, hidden yet cherished.
