I really like the rolling tool box idea, but as a M&E engineer don’t have a lot of the carpentry style of tools which traditionally just get dumped into the base unit large box. I didn’t realise the new inserts could be stacked and put all the way into the bottom of the base box and utilise all the space with tools that I would use. I learned so much watching this, and as I was agonising over the TSTAK, Tough 2.0, or even maybe the new Klein ModBox, I now feel the Tough 2.0 is the direction I want to go in. This was super helpful because I like lots of the other 2.0 boxes, but the base box was bothering me as I didn’t feel I could use it for my type of tools. Now I know different, thanks 👍 👍 👍 EDIT Bought the Toughsystem 2.0 yesterday, trays weren’t in stock but will be in tomorrow 👍

As a general remodeler with multiple trade skills it’s important to have all my tools within reach...no countless trips to my truck. Glad to see more trays organization options and hoping they fit in first generation boxes.

I'm just wondering if this would work for me. First off, all that foam cushioning would need to get ditched, because I got too much stuff that I need to put in these boxes. Secondly, Whats the weight carrying capacity and what about the wheels holding up with 250 pounds in the box on rough terrain or rolling up and down stairs? These are all valid questions. I remodel kitchens and Baths and I use a lot of tools, I'll let you real world carpenters be the guinea pigs, I'm not willing to spend $200 on a system if the wheels are gonna fall off and the latches are gonna break. Any feedback?
@tr1llwill5 жыл бұрын
You could literally spend hours watching all the reviews that answer every single one of your questions in the hundreds of different videos out there for the 1.0 system. The 1.0 rolling cart holds up fine on most surfaces. As for stairs it will feel just like it looks, small wheels so you'll be pulling most of the weight up yourself. If that's not enough or you're on really rough/uneven surfaces they make a heavier duty dolly like cart that you can attach all the different boxes to. It adds a heavier steel frame you can lock the boxes to and bigger wheels that make going over rougher surfaces much easier.

im thinking no, unfortunately. The 2.0 boxes are deeper (front to back) so the trays will be to big for the 1.0 boxes. They say that the 2.0 is compatible with 1.0 but I think they are referring to them being stacked together as a tower. Im happy but bummed at same time I am pretty heavily invested in the 1.0 boxes and the 2.0 is looking sooooooo much better. Every demo I’ve seen for Dewalt and Milwaukee tool bins has been organization at the near complete cost of efficiency. I have 2 drills, 1 angle impact, 1 jigsaw and a multi cutter with 3 batteries and 30-40 bits and blades for them in 1 shallow screw bin. Dewalt has one. It's from the first gen line but is the 2nd gen drawers if that makes sense. The OG drawers were trash and they quickly replaced that version with one that has metal drawer sliders and waterproof seals around the drawer face. The drawers along with the tote w/ the metal handle are my favorite from the 1st gen toughsystem. Once they upgraded they drawers you could put a good amount of tools/items in them without the drawer sagging/not closing etc.. They slide open like a kitchen drawer smooth and easy and make getting tools quickly very easy even when stacked on top of each other.

Of course there are comments and reviews out there that read like " Wasn't able to throw it off 30ft roof w/o it breaking small tab off so it's complete garbage!!" but anyone who uses them to keep their tools and work vehicle/shop clean knows that. Milwaukee still doesn't have a shop/vehicle rack either which makes transferring the DeWalt system to a vehicle super easy and keeps your van clean.
