I seem to recall that in some interview they mentioned that David just couldn’t film in one spot of his house because with the size of the family there would always be something happening all over the house and someone would need to use the room he was filming in so he’d have to move 😅

The meaning is more like: the more one hastens, the less speed they'll have. At the time speed had another meaning of success/prosperity or luck (i.e. God speed you) as well as velocity.
