Thank you for your advice! You have a way of making aspiring actors feel both at ease and excited to work on their craft. Can you please do a video about overcoming rejection in auditions and or advice on how to overcome fear of working with other actors?

Great video, thank you! I got a lot out of this. It made me realise I have been rushing when I should be focusing on training for now.

Love it Chris. This is really common for actors. Always remember opportunities will eventually come, the key is being ready to nail them when they do.

Attending Boston Conservatory at Berklee in the fall for my BFA in Contemporary Theatre. I wouldn’t have been nearly as inspired throughout the grueling process of college audition season in The States if it weren’t for the content on StageMilk. I cannot thank you guys enough!

Thank you for this video and the advice but what training do you need as a beginner of acting and if you are 14 years old?

I'm watching your video and I am enjoying watching your hands speak with a lot of artistic expression. I'm not in acting, but I feel an actor or actress needs to be able to express not only with their voices, but also have a free flowing, fluid body and hands to communicate their artistic expression. Your hands really move fluidly. Good video.

just came across this video, I'm currently 18 & turning 19 this year. right now I'm taking Business in college I'm also starting to realize that it isn't what I want (thinking about dropping out) and that I've wanted to get into acting but the problem is that the only experience I've had is throughout middle school and my first 2 years in high school. do you have any advice on whether I should drop out and pursue acting/theatre school? another question is do you recommend moving to Australia to study acting or is school better in the states (currently live in Toronto)?

Thanks for your tips here Andrew! Can you offer feedback for the new actor regarding the conundrum of not having any reels to post? I have heard of opportunities to "purchase reels", ie pay to have scenes professionally directed, filmed edited. Are these acceptable avenues to pursue?
@StageMilk3 жыл бұрын
Hey! So glad the video was helpful. My recommendation is to just focus on really well shot, self-tapes. They are the currency of the industry and in our experience talking with many of the top casting directors are as well-loved as showreels/demo reels. I generally find purchased or fake reels to look a bit amateur

I would really love to start taking acting courses and training at home now because of the pandemic and stuff but the problem is I live in Lebanon and now we aren't at our best here and I don't know where to start, so if there's any advice you could give me it would be much appreciated and I would be very happy about it. Thank you once again!

On your note of "Don't rush" How long would you say is a good length of time for training before heading out to the next step of agents, experience and auditioning?
@StageMilk4 жыл бұрын
pdcsky great question and a very personal question. If you feel confident in your skills then you are ready. But for a reference most professional actors train full time for 2-4 years before seriously taking on the industry. You can definitely do it faster but I wouldn’t be starting any industry related stuff until at least after 6- 18 months of training. And even then I would be making sure I am still in class and practicing my skills.
@pdcsky4 жыл бұрын
@@StageMilk Thank you for replying so quickly. I've trained for 1 year at the Sydney Theatre School and 1 year at Screenwise, both part time cause I got a full time job. I feel like once the Screenwise course is finish I'm ready to take steps to go out and look for an agent.
@StageMilk4 жыл бұрын
pdcsky absolutely! That’s a really solid foundation and then as you get out there maybe look for a cheaper on going class to stay fit!
