This time is different. Geopolitics is a completely different game than in the 1970s. China is a superpower, unlike the 1970s. South Asia & Latin America are more important to world trade than Europe and North America. But the most important difference is that in the 1970s American Baby Boomer generation is just starting becoming the most productive people on earth towards 80s and 90s. Otherwise the Stagflation of the 1970s would have lasted longer without the Baby Boomers hitting their peak production age. All this means this time around, stagflation will last longer in G7 nations, while only briefly in the rest of the world.

Hey Beija! Usually, I don't like hearing "this time is different" in investing. But there is a lot of truth in your comment. Thanks for sharing this with the community💪

It's not interest rates that needs to go up but money printing has to stop or what happened in Germany before WWII will happen in the western economies. You cannot print money as a way out of the current financial deficit. That is why Gold, Silver, Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP has value since you cannot print more of these things. Inflation of the price of things is caused by excess of paper money vs the real value of goods and services. In Germany a wheel barrow full of money was used as fuel instead of money. Even a 10 year old kid can understand these basic concepts.

But dividends reinvested should have made it worth it

Hey Harrison! I got this data from www.portfoliovisualizer.com and the results are based on the total return of assets and assume that all received dividends and distributions are reinvested.
