On spraying your neighbour's fence - In the UK neighbours would normally just spray the sides facing into their garden. In a row (terrace} of properties fence ownership is one fence each and the owner of the fence is only responsible for its structural integrity.

The fence looks amazing and just in time for summer too! Hopefully it does the trick and keeps the deer away.

I hope so too! Thank you!

Could you tell me what stain and sealer color you used for your neighbors fence. We have a new cedar fence and was looking for that type of color

I just got the same sprayer. Went to home depot to get stain for my cedar fence and some white paint to paint a kitchen drawer and a door. I asked them if I had to thin down ether paint or stain and they said no. Lol. So I don't know the ratio of thining stain and paint in wagner container? Also do u guys think I should use a clear stain to stain my other house fence which is red wood??

Another suggestion to help deter deer from eating your tulips is using human hair. Next time you or your husband to get your haircut, ask the stylist if she can bag up the hair that got cut off. Sprinkle that around and on your tulips, and when the deer come to take a bite they will smell the human on the tulip and decide to eat something else. That's been our experience for over a decade in our neighborhood.

Can you give a time estimate I am sure lots of us are wondering how long it takes to stain a fence I guess a way to keep it semi accurate would be to ask you a fence with or without the board gaps how long it takes to do like a 60' run
@ColleenPastoor3 жыл бұрын
AHH! LOL, I don't know how long it took... Less than an hour per run? I spent all day doing the two fences between masking, cleaning the sprayers between the stains etc so I’m not too sure!

I'm surprised and a bit confused. You mention using a water-based clean-up stain. On the Wagner box, there is a link to site with this video. Also on the box it reads, for "Latex and Oil-Based." Is there a reason why water-based would not work as well and if water-based is acceptable, why doesn't Wagner include that on the box. I'm also very concerned about overspray. On your friend's fence, the spray went over the fence. Should I be concerned that spraying over a fence like that could get stain on patios, cars or other surfaces on the other side? The same issue for fences with gaps between boards. I'm very concerned that the spray between the boards will get on surfaces, possibly even carry in any wind onto nearby surfaces. Is there some kind of maximum wind speed rating or other advice on dealing with overspray? Thanks.

Latex is a water based paint

You either need to put ap a big frame with canvas or plastic of have someone holding a large piece of plywood or cardboard on the other side of the fence and as you paint keep moving it ....Really takes some co-operation between neighbours. You will not be love thy neighbour if you get overspray all over their house/car etc........

Isn't the finished side of the fence supposed to be on the neighbors' side???

So better easier quicker than just rolling?

My neighbors put up a this big old fence. They just stained the side facing them!😖 They didn’t bother to touch up the side facing me??? So not good!

If you think that low fence is gonna keep deer out of your garden I hate to disillusion you. Maybe if it were 9 to 10' tall it would work
