Your videos are without a doubt the best construction videos I have come across on you tube. I've watched them all, many, multiple times. I'm amazed they don't have more views! Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the video mate, as an apprentice carpenter your videos are an invaluable tool. Really surprised there isn't more views, these are the best videos on KZbin for building, especially in Australia.

Hi Kirby, thanks for your comment, it is great to hear that apprentices are finding them useful as that is who I make them for.

Mate I’ve been qualified for years and I still refer to these videos for a quick catch up lesson the day before I do something I don’t do often, such as stair stringers. This channel is great, it’s helped me out a lot. Much appreciated

It really is the best channel for building info on KZbin, if he made an online course or wrote a book I’d be the first to buy one

Hi Mate, that a bit of a worry, watching the video is one thing but you need to practice it as well.

These videos are great. How would I find the span table to workout stringer size etc like load and span for a staircase 1200mm wide?
@Buildsum Жыл бұрын
Hi, the best option is the WoodSolutions Stairs, balustrades and handrails class 1 Buildings - construction. This is a link but you will have to register to be able to download it. www.woodsolutions.com.au/publications/installation-guides-0 Hope this helps.

Awesome mate. I’m a novice and you have helped me heaps. Thanks 😊 Ps could you put up a video on how to lay out stairs using a speed square instead?
@Buildsum3 жыл бұрын
Hi Eddy, thanks for your comment. I wouldn't use a speed square to set out stairs, the roofing square is the best way to go.

Great instructions, very easy to understand, just a couple of questions, I plan on making steps to cover about 3mt in length, I intend using solid pine for the risers and treads without any gaps, would this be an issue? also would I still require to have the threaded screws, the overall hieght is about 1mt. Cheers
@Buildsum9 жыл бұрын
Graham Graham Hi Graham I assume that these will be external stairs and in this case the threaded rod is essential. External stairs will also move with climate changes, the gaps allow for movement as well as letting water pass through easily.

How are stairs inside a house fixed without a haunch?
@Buildsum Жыл бұрын
Hi , alot of them still have the haunch but is covered up with the Newel post or balustrade. Otherwise you can put a spreader between the stringers and then attach that to the side of the landing. Hopw this helps
