Excellent as always. I’ve recently done mine and your tips from other videos really helped. I went full black paint on the bannister and spindles though for a bit more drama! This is makeover is just exquisite ❤️ Your parents must be so proud 😍

Sounds amazing this is what I plan to do all stairs and banister. May I ask how much black paint you used to cover everything debating if I need more than 1 litre or not I’m new to this 😌

@@hannahjones7853 I only have a short bannister. 10 spindles and a newel post. I primed and painted using Dulux Quickdry Eggshell Black for wood and metal. I gave them three good coats. I bought 750 ml and still have about half the can left. Hope that helps. Best of luck with your project!

hi I know its been awhile but how have you found your black stair rail. Does it still look as good as when you first done it ? Has it chipped or peeled at all? thankyou

@@kodijones5224 Mine has held up really well. Quick wipe with a damp cloth and it’s as good as new. Dulux is a great paint. I’ve never known it to chip.

Hi Shade, How do you decide how long each of the individual panel boxes is going to be, especially when they have to change angle to match to slope of the stairs. I have a very similar wrap around stair case to you and not being able to work this is what's keeping me from starting the project

May be a daft question but I've just got to doing the paneling on the steps. How do I work out the height etc? Do I measure at the top and the bottom then draw a line down???

I’m about to take on the mammoth task of my hallway/stairs/landing. One question, how did you cut in at the top of the stairs? I know you used the extension pole for the rolling but how did you cut in? Gorgeous transformation. Tfs. xxx

Hey! Good luck with. I used a paint brush on an extension pole as well. I’ve found Wooster do a great one!

I used a protractor but save yourself the hassle and get a digital angle measure. So much easier! I also just youtubed how to do the angles there are so many helpful videos from professional carpenters than know how to explain way better than i could haha xx

Hey! I used the Worx sliding mitre saw. You need to do a bit of maths with it so I always did test bits before cutting the real pieces xx

May I ask how do u know what style of paneling u are after ? As I’ve had a look on Google n there seems to be so many different styles n I’ve got this really long wall in my living room. I want to do paneling half way up the wall then paper on top but I’m not sure on the style I’m after 😊

I’d use ogee moulding and then mark up on your wall with pencil where you want each box and what size. I usually do my long horizontal railing about 80cm-90cm high depending on the size of the room and heights of ceilings xx

what paint or primer did you need to use on the stairs? I tried painting mine last year but the paint unfortunately scratches off easily and exposes the old paint below...

Oh bless you! I sanded it well to key it so the paint would stick. Then used a wood primer and undercoat. I like the dulux and Valspar versions xx

Wow, what an amazing makeover!!! A lot of work but the results are so worth it. Could you please make a video, talking through the the angles, what sums and how you figure out what angle is required! Just seen your videos for the first time - really interesting and engaging and great results too! I like the nail gun but is it strong enough to nail those dado rails/panelling into brick or is it only strong enough for fixing the rails/panelling to plasterboard?

Around the same. You could do it the same. I think I put the panelling about 80-90cm above from the top of the skirting here.
