Millenium Dawn is one of the primary examples of modders going way overboard with adding new, mostly unnecessary stuff at the expense of getting the basics like the focus trees right.

Exactly. The "fixing your country" takes just way too long. And then when you are finally able to do stuff, its 2017 and the game moves at a snails pace. It would have been better to go have most of the prepwork ready by 2008 in conjunction with the Economic Crisis and then let you go ham or something like that.

@@BobbyWanKenobi The devs probably really wanted to include the start of the war on terror and the invasion of Iraq, hence the 2000 start. I guess they didn't take into account how poorly optimized the HOI4 late game is even on high end machines, and them bloating up the game even more certainly didn't help.

@@vahlen5281 I think this is a perfect example of realism vs fun in game/mod development. Sure, fixing your country for a decade is 'realistic', but for the sake of gameplay it could and should be condensed into a couple of years. But yeah, vanilla game is 12 years give or take, with you usually being done in 7 or 8. If you had 8 years of prep phase with another 8 for gameplay and wars, so you end our 2015 that would be just fine Id say. But the game mechanics and focus trees would have to reflect that. Sooner the better since, as you said, late game HoI is pain to play.

@@BobbyWanKenobi Just cheat if you dont wanna fix your country legot, just at 200 trillion to your bank and have fun. Or do what i do i find out roughly what the country im playing ACTUALLY had at the start and give myself those things, for an example the UK actually had the merlin helicopter in the year 2000 and also dedicated special forces weapons and actually had more nuclear power plants than at game start so i give myself those things as to be more accurate and also eliviate some of the build up required. And i also reduce the Uk debt to what it actually was in the year 2000 which is actually about half of what the game gives me, literally reduces my debt from 800 billion to around 500. Since the newest DLC broke i also give myself the PP required to actually put companies in charge like BAE systems for maritine etc because these are routinely and historically the companies that the UK used to build its military, i find doing these things starts the game off with far less build up and is also a lot more accurate to the time period.

Yeah, I studied the Nazbol party in Russia and they basically don't have a Coherent ideology, from what I gathered it's more like a big tent of liberals, ultra-nationalists, and authoritarian communists

Nazbol ideology anywhere is wild, to be fair. In some cases it ends up being pretty appealing depending on where it is in comparison with the current system, but you look a little closer, and nope, just absolutely awful policies just randomly there that aren't really coherent with anything else.

"Down with Separatism" refers to the national republics you can release for bonuses(and some of them will have their own focus trees in the future) So if you had released, for example, Tatarstan, the focus would have annexed it back.

Back when I played HOI IV I did enjoy the Red World Mod (Millennium Dawn was interesting but a bit overwhelming), it starts in an alternate 2010 where the Soviet Union won the Cold War and the USA broke apart. It also ran quite well as it seemed to have a lot less of the amass of features of Millennium Dawn (more than regular HOI IV but it didn't have a national debt mechanic back when I played it).

So, in Millennium Dawn, Bulgaria has a path that is accessible only through commands, and the goal is to basically bring the old glory back by "restoring" the old borders, from when the country was bordering 3 seas ( Black sea, The Aegean and the Mediterranean). The thing is that Bulgaria stats with almost nothing in terms of military, economy, resources, and anything that isn't debt. That's why I think this could be an interesting video, even if it isn't necessarily the next one. One love ❤️

Just an FYI in millenium dawn planes are far more effective at reducing a puppets autonomy than convoys. They're basically vanilla convoys in that effect. In future you should spam planes and loan them to your puppets and you'll get them back when you annex (assuming they don't get into a war and get them shot down that is).

@stakuyi play Germany and form the Fourth Reichor the German empire. Steps: 1. Click the eagle on the bottom right side of the tree 2.Defund the nationalist sector by clicking the eagle above the German map, 2nd icon(department 2) 3.Any decisions that involve the 2nd department leave it alone 4. As soon it has broken down don't do anything in the decions tab "End the republic and wait 100 days". Win and you need the following focuses, constitution of germany, rule out article 21 and after the civil war will of the people in the same part of the tree (constitution of Germany) 5. Complete the focus end of the republic and choose either NPD or NFD( whatever it is called) or House of (something). Die linke is communist. What to do while your doing that process: -Focus industrially and militarily. -Crank out divisions(optional) -Increase productivity and decrease unemployment. There are focuses in the economic side of the tree that tackle national spirits that reduce factory output, stability and so in -Build nuclear reactors or reusable energy sources -When going for fossil plants trade for A LOT of freedom juice (oil) If you read this whole thing thank you, hope this can help anyone playing md do the german empire or fourth Reich and @stakuyi please do a video doing this.
