STALKED by Alligator In Wilmington NC While Fishing New Spot!

Most of my channel centers around coastal North Carolina saltwater fishing, but today I decided to fish a pond I've never fished before in Wilmington. Wanted to do a species assessment in this body of water so I targeted large mouth bass and panfish. (Alligator encounter begins around 6-minute mark)

We just moved to Wilmington. Had no idea about alligators in the area. We were just informed by a police officer that there are alligators in the small lake we like to go swimming at 😳 There is one large sign at the beginning of the park that mentions no swimming that we missed and 1 sign saying "no pets in the water"...well a ton of people go swimming there and bring their dogs into that lake. There definitely should be signage that says keep out alligators! I am thankful nothing bad happened.

Alligators live all throughout the southern coast of North Carolina. Better get used to it.

100% the case. I was in Jamaica and the boat tours signal gators to come to the boat for food so the tourist can take photos. These alligators are conditioned.

He's either been fed or it's a female that's guarding eggs or hatchlings nearby. Sometimes they'll steal your fish off the hook and swim off with it.
