Pro tip for people playing Shadow of Chernobyl. At the beginning there is a military base to the right of the starting area. If you shoot at the soldiers and be patient they should follow you back to the starting area. Everyone will start attacking the soldiers. As the people are mostly armed with pistols you will need to help but if done right you will be able to kill all the soldiers. Sell most of their equipment (Guy at the start talking to you is also a vendor) and raid their base. One of the houses on the far left has a good assault rifle. One of the soldiers at the base should also drop another AR varient. Anyways, it takes a little time but you will have around 6/7K and be properly geared to head out into the rest of the game.

@pawelpawlowski3824 yeah it's Master difficulty is actually far better for the player in terms of enemy health and gun damage, the damage modeweis far better and enemies are no longer sponges unless it's lore accurate (armour they are wearing, exorbitant, mutant etc) Id genuinely recommend Master difficulty even if you've never played, its a far better experience out the gate.

Fair warning, sometimes you'll feel like you aren't hitting anything anyways because the accuracy system (especially in Shadow) is insane. They do an accuracy cone thing even while using sights. Recoil makes it widen. Your stance makes it widen Whether you moved recentlt makes it widen. The only way to get a truly accurate shot is to stand still, crouch, aim, and wait a second. And then there's how limb shots do so little damage that arms are like body armor...
@GugureSux2 ай бұрын
You don't need even a "decent" PC by modern standards to run these games. They got literal DirectX8 mode; they can be played on Windows XP era wormboxes running 1-core CPUs , GPU with mere 128 Megabytes of VRAM, and 1GB of DDR1 RAM. Anything made after WIndows 7 era can easily max out the vanilla games.

The engine used for this game was kept together with duct tape and strings but it still was able to pull off one of the most amazing lighting of its time. STALKER was VERY prone to crashes and it didn't matter how strong your PC was. It wasnt until modders released fixes that the game was able to run more smoothly. Since crashes weren't mentioned in the review, I take it the game is 100% stable. If so, that's very impressive.

Dude, thank you so much for this review. I’ve never experienced these games before, but I have played the original F.E.A.R. which this almost reminds me of ( I wish all three of those were on Switch ). I absolutely love these classic older PC shooters, so the first one is a definite buy for me. 👍

What is the dock you’re using in handheld mode? Also, have you guys thought of doing new review videos for accessories? I’d love to see it! Great job as always! Keep it up!

I think I'll wait for a sale or a patch regarding the controls - at some point I'll definitely pick them up though
