This unit sounds amazing and as soon as I heard it, I thought ; GTH ( Got To Have !) just 2 days ago, I’d emailed Josh and asked about ordering an SA-609. Well, after this review I’ll be adding this unit as well. Your reviews are always head and shoulders above many. Thanks for all you do !

Bro, first of all, I must say, I have tremendous respect for your skill set. You are very talented and are very tasteful. Anytime you use a piece of equipment whether it be analog or digital. And to see you get that excited before even hearing it got my heart pumping loland then to hear the results it was remarkable. It is such a flexible box whether you kept the drum sounding drying punchy or wet with extended sustain. Everything was usable and it makes me want to drop the cash right away. Truly remarkable!

Man, the ethereal 3D Vudu that this unit does to the high-end every time it's engaged is something I just did not expect. I have a IGS Tubecore and a Gainlabs Dictator, which I love, but they do have a lot of similarities in the way they bring sound to life with warmth and that velvety goodness you describe in your Dictator review (thank you). This 1176 just does something completely different. It's larger than life but never harsh. I was looking at the myriad of buss processors, but this one is calling my name!

I didn't record the male vocalist but if you're talking about Bella's vocals, well, that's how she sounds even thru a phone :D But the chain for her is API 512c. Austrian Audio OC818 into Stamchild 670 (sometimes Distressor but this was the 670), no eq here but if she sings in the low range a lot I'll cut a but in the low mids with the SSL 611EQ and/or add a touch of top end with the Empress

I got so many compressors, I got no more space nor channels (although it was useless because I have to add another 16 anyway now) and I'm waiting for 3 stereo EQs and more.. I had to let it go especially because it's the only unit that broke, I got it fixed and let go
@harrynak228 ай бұрын
@@mixbustv wow I get it, but if there's one compressor I would not want to let go it might be that one. I love it. Unfortunately not only custom fees (which are based on piece price + transport) but also VAT which is a minimum of 15%, depending on the country. "I consulted on the making of this unit..." Not saying the unit doesn't sound great but take that into consideration when you watch a KZbinr tell you how wonderful something is.
@mixbustv8 ай бұрын
First off, I'm a mix and mastering engineer. That's my job, that's how I pay my bills, my house, my cars. KZbin is fun. Second, you can either do that OR, hear me out, know that I put my money where my mouth is an if I feature something on my channel is because I KNOW it sounds good because I MADE SURE IT DOES. Now, find someone else who can say that. Also, I don't care, I don't make a dime if you buy this or not. I'm so sick of stupid comments like this.
@edwardcolon86148 ай бұрын
@@mixbustv Maybe you are and maybe you aren't. And, maybe your reaction was so strong because my comment hit a nerve. Most people I'm aware of who are successful in those fields are not posting KZbin videos every week or offering mixing tutorials. Why? Because they are too busy being successful in their chosen field to be bothered with reviewing equipment or offering lessons. So for a guy who claims to only be doing this for fun, you sure put a lot of time and effort into it. Can't say I ever saw Manny Marroquin post a product review. Mind you - I'm not saying that you don't provide useful content but people need to be aware that most KZbinrs are selling something or working towards selling something. Lastly, I would bet that any notoriety you have attained in this industry has far more to do with this channel than your engineering.

This has nothing to do with the quality of his content. I'm standing up for transparency for the sake of all audio consumers. If you fall into that category, I'm on your side. I'm sorry if you're too naive and unintelligent to see that.
