I used to walk through this park in 1949 to go from Darnton Road to School (now called 'San Rocco'). Saturdays we would play in 'The Dingle', keeping well away from 'The Parkies' (Park keepers). Not been back since 1954, but always remember happy times. Lincolnshire where I now live has nothing like this. Thanks a lot, Great stuff

Take a look at 'Albion Whit Walks Ashton Under Lyne 1958 & Stamford Park & Stalybridge'. My dad took the cine film back in 1958, we lived on Penny Meadow then across from the Albion pub.
