What can I do to my nail gels to use them for making stamps (to prevent it from setting up rock hard)...? I have a LOT of various nail gels...

You can't. Although UV activated, the gel is of a different composition. You can use gels in your projects for decoration though.

How safe is the gel? Nail gel is an allergen and can cause horrific reactions is this similar? I notice you don't use gloves just want to be safe. So glad I've found you! I need to try to make a frame. I have a large led nail lamp. (I'm a beauty therapist of 20 years moving in to main jewlery.)

The gel is not supposed to be toxic but it would be cautious to wear gloves. I don't, I have never had an issue with it - but I am very careful to remove any traces from my skin straight away and afterwards I oil, then wash my hands. You could, I guess use a barrier cream on your hands but I have not tried that. Re lamps - look at my most important stamp making playlist and watch the one on lamps. It will save you money in the long run.

Thank you so much, I can't find any gel in n stock anywhere in the UK at the moment (maybe the covid-19 situation) so I've ordered the little packets of gel for the time being. I'll try to do a little video when they've arrived.

Ah ok, i just asked on your old video if an LED lamp would work as well, disregard that then. I'm not through your video yet but you just mentioned the angles of the leds and I'm thinking the ones on the sides could be taped with masking tape, then place your plate perfectly center under lights and just hit the button to turn on. I would love to test this but seeing as the bottle of photopolymer is currently almost 50 dollars I can't afford that

I sympathise on the price of the polymer! It's worth noting though, that a bottle goes a very long way. If you watch the 'most important stamp making' playlist before embarking, and practice with small designs, you should get a LOT of stamps out of one bottle. When I first started, I went through a whole bottle of failures - but I didn't have anyone to teach me how to do it!

@@createinspain its definitely on my list of things to try once this crisis is averted. We're currently barely scraping by and it's been getting worse and worse (we're in massachusetts) no income with no outlook on having any anytime soon. I'll be making some crafts in hopes of getting some sort of money in that way maybe. It's just extremely hard right now. But one day I'll definitely try this. If nothing else it looks like a fun science experiment. And the scientist part in me that was never realized certainly can appreciate that

hello .......Nothing appear on my photopolymer gel after cure it with my UV lamp......what is the problem??!!!!

If the gel is a solid lump, with no pattern or detail, you have over cured it. If it is still liquid, it is under cured. Please watch the other videos regarding the timings etc. All the information is there. Without more detail of what you are using to make the sandwich, type of lamp etc I can't help more than that, there are too many variables. Look at the videos and find the set up that matches yours the best and go from there.

You have to experiment to find what works for YOU. There are many variables.I suggest you watch this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qn-6p4qoltidbdE There is NO SINGLE answer and I cannot possibly tell you what you are doing wrong if you are not using exactly the same gel, glass, printed image etc. It could be any number of factors from a bad negative to over curing.
