Charlie Brown used to have a difficult time concealing candy from Snoopy whenever Snoopy heard the crinkling. Like your crinklings....lol.

On Google Maps I see there is a Stampede Pass Road that goes to the pass from the west, but you can only get to it via the roads labeled "NF-5410" and "NF-5400 1." I wonder if NF stands for National Forest and only Forest Service vehicles can use them.

Problem is there is no way to access the start of NF-54 since the beginning is closed to the public by the native americans that own the land now and the logging company.

@@AmericanOutbackAmazing interesting. Thanks. I know you said you weren't interested in going there via 1-90, but it would be kind of interesting to see what it looks like from that angle. Stampede Pass Road starts from there, too. It would be interesting to see how far you could drive on it west from the pass. Of course I'm not interested in you just getting lost in the woods. It's amazing how long those NF roads are. A lot of Washington is wilderness!

I might try that someday, I want to find the Mirror Lake trailhead that is in the same area. I did find that the road is also closed 2 miles east of Lester if coming from I-90 area.

Ahh, I was thinking fishing? Sucks that the road has been closed for 30 years!

Weyerhaueser owns property all over the basic North Bend area. Logging. Anyway, so you know, it isn't "wire-houzer" It is rather, "where-houzer" in the pronunciation. God Bless Wife and Zoe the cat - (dave by bellingham)
