👏👏👏 I loved this video! So glad you got to travel there in person. You did so much xtremephilately! I like your travel footage, and the waves on that seawall (and post card) were certainly impressive! I like reading the old messages on post cards too... Just a glimpse into another person's personal everyday life. Very great video keep it up!

Love the Manx Loaghtan wool hat! I won't try to pronounce it. 😅 Another interesting episode, so much philatelic adventure in this one, well done! One day I hope to visit the Isle of Man for the TT race. Oh and thank you for the postcard! I imagine that it was dropped off at one of those postboxes in this video 😊

You’re very welcome and thanks for watching Graham! And nope😅, I passed the postcard to the counter in Port Erin post office.

Why doesn't GRaham ever do South Africa, or Richard China. I guess your own country's stamps are boring right!
@RichardPhilatelist3 жыл бұрын
@@maxiewawa Graham made at least one Episode of South Africa, “ Cape of Good Hope Stamps S2E20.” I will definitely make videos about Chinese stamps. There are a lot of stories to cover. I prefer to show you some of my collection in my video, not just talk. But most of my Chinese stamps collection is in my hometown in China, and I haven’t been back for three years😂😂 I will not go back soon, but I have friends in China who send letters to each other with me, I will have something for my viewers.
@maxiewawa3 жыл бұрын
@@RichardPhilatelist I look forward to it. If you have Chinese friends who would like to exchange for Australian stamps let me know please. Also if they can buy 上海集邮 or similar magazines I could exchange for that too.

Richard i think the Viking shown on the stamp commemorating the inaugaration of Manx postal services as the first Manx postman on his first delivery round delivering mail sent by sea.People didn't have letterboxes for their post so he has an axe to make a slit in the door through which he can put the letters. 🙂 Another very interesting and well done presentation.

Another excellent and informative video! You seem to have a knack for finding topics to dig into that even experienced (older 😃) collectors may not be aware of. Thanks!

Thank you for your comment. I think it is because the scope of philately is too wide. So even though I’m a beginner, I can find some things that experienced collector have not be aware of☺️.

@@RichardPhilatelist You're exactly right. It's one of the thigs that makes philately such a great hobby. There's always more to learn!

A fascinating episode! Keep them coming, please! I’m so amazed that you actually flew to the island. By the way, the ‘D’ in 3D is pronounced pence (or ‘penny’ if just 1). Also, a 1/2 pence is pronounced ‘haypenny’ - a contraction of half penny.
@RichardPhilatelist3 жыл бұрын
Oh thank you so much! I will pay more attention about the Penny pronunciation in my future videos😁🙏
@RichardLaurence3 жыл бұрын
@@RichardPhilatelist Even more confusing, the number 2 1/2 pence on the red Queen Elizabeth stamp can be pronounced ’tuppence haypenny’!

The Peaky Blinders are coming!😱.😂... suits you sir! Suits you! 👍 Ok am really impressed with your drive and focus to tour the islands! It's cool. What inspired you to choose the islands? I'm similarly interested in collecting the Turkic countries (Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan). I'm focusing on anything Ottoman and also have started contacting postal services in those countries to collect covers. But I think it will be a while before I can hop on a plane and visit them..but maybe some day.. The old used postcards - the text about the photograph I think the word after first class was "result". Are you only interested in old Islands postcards or any UK ones? I quite like the idea of reading the messages - gives a great idea about the culture. You'll be happy to know, with my postcrossing cards, I write so much that I run out of space and the message climbs up the sides... Anyway, another great vid..thanks!
