At one time, JD made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for hitting the lowest “C” note in the piano singing with the Stamps Quartet. He also hit that note singing on Elvis last LP on the song, “Way Down” which hit the charts after Elvis died.

My precious Mother held my hand and sort of dragged me as a very young teen to meet a legend at my home church in Marietta, Ga. I had no idea just how monumental he was. JD Sumner took my hand in his, smiled his signature smile and talked with Mom and me about how good God is, how great life is and Heaven. So thankful she did this for me. Ill never forget!
