Just an FYI: my insurance wouldn't cover my CPAP for whatever reason and it would've cost me over $1,000 to buy one; however I was able to get one through the American Sleep Apnea Association for $100. @icreporting39805 жыл бұрын
Thyroid level = Iodine level. Nature iodine comes from seaweed and cranberries. Sodium comes from table salt. Insulin is released by your pancreas when your blood glucose levels spike from high carbohydrate intake from high carb foods. The more carbs you take the higher you insulin resistance and the more fat you gain from excess glucose in the blood. Insulin resistance is just another term for excessive energy intake. All of the energy you intake from food must be either used or stored as fat for later use. This is why keto diets work so well at cutting fat because if you restrict your carb intake you force your body to burn fat to power your bodies cells.

Most grassfed beef is actually grainfed for the last few months to fatten the cow up. Which diminishes all the grassfed benefits (mostly omega 3 omega 6 ratio). You need to check the regulations in your area to know if they are ever fattened up with grain at the end.

Thomas Thor 1) Manage your light exposure. Read about how sunlight affects your circadian rhythm. You need as much sunlight as you can get during the day. Not directly on the skin of course. Just bright rooms and windows etc. be outside. 2) Then get your vitamin D levels up. Get a blood test now and then a month later 25oh test. You can order it online. Natural sunlight on the skin is ideal for increasing your levels. I use a phone app called D Minder. Second option is vitamin d3 supplementation. Make sure to also take K2 with it. Supplement and then measure after a month. You will see your sleep drastically improve. Trust me. The biggest impact for me was Light. Sunlight during day. No screens at night. Good luck!

@Luke Garcia I recommend you read a book called Sleep Smarter by Shawn Stevenson. And, yes, I think I can relate to the fear of letting go. Being able to sleep is a skill you need to develop. I use meditation. I also make sure I disconnect from all electronic stimulus at least an hour or two before bed -- no screens, no music, no audiobooks, no podcasts. I train myself to be okay falling asleep just me and my thoughts. Meditation helps with this. I recommend an app called Headspace. It just makes meditation easy to do.

I would also see if you sleep in a different home and bed how you feel, like stay in a nice hotel for a couple nights. I recently moved out of my previous home in December and slept much much better.

Thank you so much for this info, I had KZbin running on my TV and it shuffled to this video. I listened to this as I scrambled to pick myself up for the gym. At 260lbs, I listened and found my CPAP on letgo for $220 and like new. I also subconsciously started craving my pickles after listening to you talk about sodium. As a Chemical Engineer, I really appreciate you talking to people with a level head. Too many people act as if they have the degrees and time in the lab. Telling people what the research says and telling them where you got that info is invaluable in this industry. I knew I could trust you when you spoke about cholesterol. Thanks man. And btw the way you spelled vegetables got you my sub lol. It was nolstagic and instantly reminded me of my childhood watching Dexter's Lab 😂(kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaKneJuCabiVp6c).

There's a lot of baggage that comes with trying to eat only red meats that he's not mentioning, also you need vitamin C and fiber supplementation if you want to eat only red meat. It's possible, but expect problems years down the road with cardiovascular and digestive health.

New evidence suggests that the Insulin sensitivity that he refers to at 4:00 for people that lose sleep is actually caused by having a longer eating window throughout the day, not the sleep itself. People who do intermittent fasting don't suffer from low insulin sensitivity when they lose sleep because they are still eating in the same 8-12 hour window. When most people lose sleep, they tend to eat late at night & early in the morning, reducing the fasting window. Fasting for more than 8 hours is what starts to increase your insulin sensitivity, and you really want 12-16 ideally.
