Its been forty years since Stan's life so cruelly and needlessly ended. Thank goodness that these recordings are available to keep his spirit alive.

Thank you for posting this. Stan Rogers means so much to my family. Stan Rogers was my moms cousins hero, he stopped his car on the side of the road and wept when heard the news that Stan passed on the CBC radio. I wish I could show you these sets Jimmy, but I feel lucky to be listening to them

I have viewed this several times. I keep thinking, what a loss, but at the same time, think of how much better off the universe is for Stan The Man to have been here, if only for a brief moment. 🇨🇦🎶👍

What a fantastic gift that we finally, after all these years, get to hear some new Stan Rogers.....what a shame we had to wait 35 years

I have....and have met him a few times. Not sure how to take the book. It is funny....but at the same time he seems very....hard to describe....bitter?

I am glad you have read the book, a shocking end, to Stan's life style that would of killed him, if he did not change, had there been no plane death. Garnet knows us by face. Read Alan Doyle's book of Great Big Sea, its very good about him growing up in Petty Harbor. I am reading the 2nd book on the building of the Canadian Pacific RR in 1880s. Next Bruce Cockburn and then Gordon Lightfoot's book. Go Maple Leafs. Mike

I know those turtlebacks, I could visualise them precisely as Stan waxed about his smelt fishing days.

Thank you for posting. I imagine John Gorka was in the audience (who later covered lock keeper). Long live Stan!
@westernmaryland19283 жыл бұрын
That is a good question. We see John in concert in the MD area and the next time, he is back, after Covid is over, I would like to ask him. I do have a full concert for John post, John Gorka Bethesda, should get you there. If you go to Amazon, key in Jim Cain Rise Again, its a novel I am almost done with. Jim wrote this as a fictional novel about the rising of The Mary Ellen Carter as he got permission from Ariel (Dianne) to do this. Jim has written nearly 20 books on team building but this is his first novel, very well done. And of course Garnet wrote a book about Stan and Garnet.

Thanks for letting me know, as if you have read any of my replies, this is one of many concerts I got from a lady in the United States of all places, as I live in Maryland myself. She learned of me on a Gordon Lightfoot list, and when I mentioned I have some Stan Rogers concerts, she wanted to know if we could do a trade. She already had the concerts I have and she said no trade. I pleaded no she said. I found something on CBC two recent shows about Stan and got her to trade, as I got all of the Godfrey Daniels, the Blue Sky and the 198? show. I post all of them on a world wide concert sharing site, that generated two more shows from someone else, the Cherry Tree I just posted and soon another Cherry Tree in 1983 that I need to do. Well she was on the site too, as she already insulted me about my dead mother. She finally wish me death, how silly how immature. So in the end, with me posting these on the sharing site, that got 2 more shows to come, that I have and in the end all of the know concerts out there for Stan will be on KZbin for all to have. Very neat that you have that 45, good for you. So I have two more Cherry Tree concerts to post and a show from Kerrville. Most likely someone will come across a cassette maybe of a concert they recorded in person or maybe from radio like CBC. Read Garnet's book. Mike (I am reading the 2nd book about the building of your Canadian Pacafic railroad that my friend John got me for Christmas, as we do a Christmas exchange, as he is from Toronto now in Vancouver. From me he got a Washington Nationals NL East shirt, we are both big baseball, music and train fans. He has made me a honorary or honourary Canadian. O:)!

westernmaryland1928 I have the Godfrey Daniels and Bethlehem bootleg CD’s that I intend to put on KZbin one of these days. Man she sounds mean but hopefully you put some more stuff on. Soon
@westernmaryland19286 жыл бұрын
And now you know the story behind all of these, as I have two more to post and then that is it. If you got them from Dime than that was my doing due to this lady. I have a Gordon Lightfoot concert to post on Dime and she loves Lightfoot. She takes, does not give back. She's a creep. She only wanted these to stay in her little group as the world needs to remember Stan. And now its done. Mike I am sure she checks KZbin from time to time and I hope she sees this.

Silly Garnet. Naugahyde cones from sidell gougers. Their left legs are shorter than thier right legs. Boot Ketzell raised sidell gougers in the hill country of Nebraska. Sidell gougers feed by grazing on the slopes of hills. Around and around they go, in an unhurried fashion. Sidell gougers starve on flat pasture. The grazing circle is too small. When you butcher and skin a sidell gouger, they produce Spam. So THERE!
