Stan Walker - "I Am" (from "Origin") - Reaction/Review

In this video, I reacted to and reviewed "I Am" by Stan Walker from the Ava DuVernay film, "Origin". The song was released as a standalone single on November 27, 2023. It peaked at No. 6 on Billboard's U.S. World Digital Song Sales chart and it was nominated for "Best Original Song - Feature Film" award at the 14th Hollywood Music in Media Awards.

The language Stan is speaking is Te Reo, which is the mother tongue of the Maori people from Aotearoa (Land Of The Long White Cloud) aka New Zealand, though Stan is a very strong and confident singer he is humble at heart, though his videos are awesome, his live performance is just as good, thank you for your reaction, maybe you should listen to Stans cover of Kanye West song Ultralight beam.

Superb reaction Zak ! Do we have another reactor down the Stan Walker rabbit hole ? There is a huge back-story surrounding this remarkable artist, from tragedy to triumph, and on to this work for the film ' Origin '. You know from the comments, some of his song titles, for me the standouts are ' Ultralight Beam ' and ' Don't Dream It' s Over ' by another very famous Kiwi, Neil Finn and' Crowded House ' While ' I Am ' is spectacular, ( Have a look at videos of the production of it, and the story of Stan' s relationship with the Writer / Director ), the great disappointment is that it was completely lost at the very end of the film, and not given the promenence it so richly deserved. It is, nevertheless, an amazing film !!
