Stan has the most glorious feeling backhand in tennis. It looks phenomenal. A joy to watch, and a nightmare to play against. He takes the ball so early and hits it so hard. That backhand down the line is just threaded perfectly. It is out of this world.

One of the big secrets of Stan's success that's seldom talked about is his footwork. He's not the fastest about the court, but once he's there his footwork allows him to get into position and set up beautifully. For such a powerful man, his footwork is balletic at times.

Stan's backhand to me is the best shot in tennis I've ever seen, in 30 years (maybe together with Edberg's volley). Everybody knows about this one around the net in the French against Djokovic, but the one just before represents a lot more what he could do. Novak stands there, waiting for the shot, and sees this bullet passing buy, no way to guess it will be right or left. Absolute talent

Have a recreational player just try to mimic the motion WITHOUT actually hitting a ball and the rec player is gonna hurt himself. Problem for Wawrinka is that the big one hander is completely NEUTRALIZED by a two hander. Now, if the ITF were to outlaw the two hander, Wawrinka could play til he was 50.

Wawrinka has the best one-handed backhand we've ever seen. He has exceptional upper body strength and has shown that it is possible to beat the two-handed robots. From the edge of extinction, there are now more players prepared to master this beautiful stroke. Right now he's the only player that Djokovic cannot stop.

One thing that is really great about his backhand is it is very difficult to read where he is going to hit it. I see a lot of people talking about how accurate it is, or how powerful it is, but I think that is an underrated aspect of the way he hits it. It's hard to tell if he is going to hit it hard across the court or down the line. He uses the same basic motion either way and just adjusts his timing and the amount he puts his body into it.

Fed is got a beautiful backhand, but not quite powerful enough. If only he has Wawrinka's backhand, he would had gotten 20+ Grand Slams.

If federer got a wawarinka backhand he cannot play his volleys and his approach game better because both rackets are different. I played with both rackets(I play single hand backhand) and I prefer rackets which resemble Federer's rather than wawarinka. My drops and volleys are way lot better but with yonex like wawarinkas my baseline play was amazing. I had awesome bite on the ball.
