@@mostakfulWD Gann teachings are cryptic and guarded for the most part. If you want actually learnings you’ll need to pay for it from some “school of thought”. There is Gann’s mechanical system he designed for his students, and then there is Gann’s Advanced methods using sacred geometry and astrology. As great as Jack is, there is not enough clear information for him to discern and make a proper video covering the basis of either of WD Gann’s systems, without him paying for the teachings himself and then he’ll be subject to copyright infringement possibly. Sacred geometry, astrology, elliott waves and fractals is as esoteric as it gets, good luck on your journey! P.S. The multiple different “Gann Schools of Thought” is like Christianity. They all derive from one source but each claim their own belief to be true, given they agree and disagree on specifics within WD Gann’s Theory. Thus be very selective and cautious when choosing one the many “Schools of Thought”. I would say as a rule of thumb, the more formal the education provider the greater your chances of learning correct application of WD Gann methods. From personal experience it’s the greatest financial investment I’ve made in my life.

Thank you for watching. I don't know what the ADX is. The A/D Line and Relative Strength Line are very different.
@Roderickbernardino4509 Жыл бұрын
@@JackCorsellis ADX is advance directional index which above 20 means a strong trend. Combined with DI- and DI+, you will know if stock is heading up or down depending whether if DI- is higher or lower than DI+. If ADX is less than 20 trend is weak, so don’t enter a trade on that stock.

I think the market keeps moving quicker and quicker, and daily charts are optimal vs weekly charts. The 50d SMA (10-week SMA) as a trailing stop, in my experience and testing, is not as good as the 10d EMA and 21d EMA as trailing stops.

Good question. My main timeframe is the daily and I use 10d EMA, 21d EMA, 50d SMA, 65d EMA and 200d SMA as my moving averages. I like looking for setups, as per my criteria, usually around the 21d EMA and/or 50d SMA. The 50d SMA is closely aligned with the 10-week SMA on the weekly charts.

about the overhead resistance, can the area where price hits just before it retraces serve as a resistance zone?

Stan's 9 Commandments: 1) Don't buy when the overall market trend is bearish. 2) Don't buy a stock in a negative group. 3) Don't buy a stock below it's 30 day Moving Average (MA). 4) Don't buy a stock that has a declining 30-week MA (even if the stock is above the MA). 5) No matter how bullish a stock is, don't buy it too late in an advance, when it is far above the ideal entry points. 6) Don't buy a stock that has poor volume characteristics on the breakout. If you bought it because you had a buy-stop order in, sell it quickly. 7) Don't buy a stock showing poor relative strength. 8) Don't buy a stock that has heavy nearby overhead resistance. 9) Don't guess a bottom. What looks like a bargain can turn out to be a very expensive Stage 4 disaster. Instead, buy on breakouts above resistance.

1:17:30 Chart no2 on the right is more bearish. Why? The more times a stock hits a level, the weaker the level becomes. In this case 3 hits at the lower base in chart 2 against 2 hits on the lower base of chart 1. Hence the breakdown from chart 2 base is likely to be more severe.

Question: is it possible that the stage 3 is actually a really long consolidation (which makes the MA flat) after which the stock may breakout again?
@JackCorsellis Жыл бұрын
Depends what happened after. In your scenario if price resumes a significant uptrend it would be a long re-accumulation base. Important to stay flexible and have a bayesian mentality. Stage 3 often associated with increased volatility, higher volume on declines than rallies, and generally a series of lower highs and lower lows.

Hi Jack , i got another question , regarding the advance and decline line is it usage only for Index . And if positive divergence in your slide does it means the market is have less energy to go down and are ready to move upwards ? Thanks .
@JackCorsellis Жыл бұрын
In essence a 'market technician' would be looking for a positive divergence whereby the indexes make a series of LHs and LLs, but the A/D line diverges and makes LHs and HLs. This is one example. I don't give the A/D line a significant weight vs other things.
