The age of consent in most US states is 16, so there's nothing illegal about it, as long as both of them want it to happen. If he was much older, that would be creepy, because the maturity gap would be too much and I would feel like the more experienced person could be taking advantage of the nativity of the young one. I think some people are using "date" and "f**k" interchangeably. Someone over 21 can date someone under 18. However, they cannot sleep with them. Depending on the circumstances, it definitely can be creepy, but if you are, say, college classmates, you might not immediately think someone is jailbait. But definitely check ID before moving past platonic dating! As for my age range: I'm 51 with chronic health issues. I don't have the patience to date - nor do anything else - most days. If I did, I'd might go up to 60, and down to 35 or so. It really depends on the guy, as age is neither a guarantee of maturity, nor a gauge of their ability to have a serious relationship.
