Outstanding job SBoTS (WT 04 4LYFE)! Amazing performance! I can’t for THEE BOOMbox Classic to see the clash of the two SWAC titans JSU & SU. On another note we should have a conversation about having all four power HBCU conferences (CIAA, MEAC, SIAC, & SWAC) having a BOTB. The make up of this event should somewhat mirror the virtual band Olympics that @Steven Holiday put together with also having a twist of ESPN’s band of the year competition. Through out the marching season the best four bands from each conference will be selected to battle each other. After that battle of the bands the two best bands will be selected to merge in to a conference band and represent their respective conference in the HBCU Band Olympics. The battles should be both Stands and field Show. The categories that should make up the scores are Field drill, field ballad, hype stand tune1, dance and or auxiliaries features ( both stand and field) and hype stand tune two. For a better understanding of this break down check out the 2023 Scholiday College virtual BOTB which was the orchestrator of the both virtually. The judges the I recommend for such an epic event are @STEVEN HOLIDAY, @KBTHEBANDHEAD, @THEROGERSBROS, @KINGKVO, & @WATTSARRANGEMENTS. IMO These gentlemen give great perspective and will always give an unbiased opinion!

notice the thing pv did in there second song against bcu was recreating the tuba break that miles was playing did back at the 2019 botb which pv interrupted with the woodwinds. pv has gotten leaner and txsu has gotten bigger - both sound good but i think txsu has the labor day classic but i suppose well find out next week!

Your criticism wasn’t as worst as I thought it would be. I agree with Bethune. TXSU would have to get out from under a stadium roof to fully hear their new sound. I don’t like dark sounds though. Shoutout to Tuskegee for coming and not being intimidated by the large bands there. I hope after week one we won’t hear They Not Like Us no more.

It was a little more organized than the shown. The echoes were only on field views. In the stands the way they had us sitting, barely anything. When you review the field shows, you’ll see how they set up the sound so both sides can equally hear. Overall, the scores look good!
