Nymiura Lee I still would consider it her ancestors . Why should you question that.. we who are African Americans came out of Africa into various countries, of one what is now the United States and into slavery. The comment was accurate.

@@nymiuralee6586 There was colonial rule in Nigeria up until 1960 when we got our independence. Even now there is still an element of modern slavery going on in the corporate world, the brains of a lot of Nigerians is whitewashed thinking anything/anyone foreign is better. There is still a lot of healing to be done.

As a young black girl, with short 4C hair, and lovely african features, hearing a critically acclaimed Nigerian actress and singer on her way to becoming an EGOT literally saying she's going to " stand up take my people with me" (me being her people) is amazing. I know this is for the movie but the song reaches different depths. She, literally being one of the few black woman I see who resemble my life and my features, saying she's paving the way for girls like me to follow along is honestly... transcendent. Love you miss Erivo💖💖💖

She reached back 400 years grab the soul of our ancestors and connected them with us in this song. I feel the hope and the pain of what our people went through when she sings, she has the gift to channel. She's not just a good singer she has Conviction and purpose when she sings. And let's not forget the back up singers they are the bomb the harmony is pitch perfect.

@@AlmondJoie Don't buy into the narrative... there is no such thing as black on black crime. Crimes usually committed against ones neighbor.

@@AlmondJoie Most people have no idea how many minorities are falsely imprisoned with the highest percentage being black males. Not to exclude whites as well that are falsely imprisoned. They just released a white man who had spent 12 years in prison for murder. A man in prison confessed to the murder. They interviewed the falsely accused man and he said what the police did not have as evidence they manufactured, and that the arresting officer just got on the witness stand and lied. They gave him some money for 12 years of freedom he lost. But if this happened to a causcian image what is happening to minority people.

@@sharonpowell1969 right. Right now a man named Rodney Reed is scheduled to be executed Nov. 20, 2019 in Texas. Many factors plus DNA proves he did not commit the murder he was convicted of. The Governor of texas Greg Abbott won't extend the date of his execution for a new trial. The ex-fiance admitted killing the woman then retracted his admission. This wicked Gov. Abbott sees execution as Texas Justice. Will God give him the same amount of mercy he's shown the 20 men he's seen put to death under his watch?

2022. I listen to this song every morning. It reminds me of how beautiful I am. How proud I am of my skin. And how thankful I am to our ancestors for bringing us this far. Black is truly beautiful ❤️. Proud to be African. 🇬🇭

1. Not every other opinion about homosexuality or homosexuals is immediately homophobic. Hope you know that. 2. We Catholics love homosexuals and believe that it is better for them to live without sexual contacts and out of relationship (without compulsion for them; we only say what we believe), because we believe that God established unions to strive for marriage, and that marriage was established for a man and a woman. 3. All the best for you.
