It's due to Arabic influence that some Amazigh write in the Arabic script; also, tifinagh is not used as much, we prefer latin letters
@immeoua4 ай бұрын
Riffian is written in the Latin script. Very rarily in tifinagh. I have no clue why they added the arabic alphabet into this video it has no ties with the riffian language. the riffians started using the latin script a long time ago due to spanish colonisation and hispanic influences. so its unlogical, not true and overall weird why its even added into the video
@tsukiyama6750Ай бұрын
Tamazight was written in Arabic, there are many manuscripts who proof that. The language prospered under the Arabic script. The landscape changed completely when France colonized North Africa. Because of the use of latin script, the language couldn't prosper because Tamazigh doesn't go well written in the Latin language. That is where it became alienated. Unlike Turkish who could do well with the latin script, tamazight couldn't. Arabic was a blessing to the Tamazight language because it's script fitted perfectly with it. Because the languages are more closer than it being closer to latin. That is the part of history many are ignorant about. Tamazight didn't die but it got reduced due to European colonialism.

@tsukiyama6750Ай бұрын
no, but they are distantly related, Tamazight used to be written in Arabic because Arabic alphabet fit very well with the tamazight laanguage. This changed drastically when France colonized Morocco and latin script was introduced, tamazight didn't go well with the latin language and hence it became alienated and reduced only to oral tradition.

its not, the native numbers are still used. i dont understand why this video used arabic numerals and vocabulary even though we riffians have our own words. riffians in morocco use arabic numerals because arabic is largely spoken in morocco. that doesnt mean we use those arabic words to eachother. honestly this video has a lot of unintentional misinformation
