I'm super excited! We'll be getting a chocolate lab in a few weeks and I am trying to learn as much as I can to properly train him. Thank you so much for this content. My husband loves hunting and fishing so this whole series is perfect to suit him into our lifestyle❤

I have been using this kzbin.infoUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU as a handy reference book. I read through the book and enjoyed the little glimpses of examples. I love that this author believes in rescue dogs. The tips and training has been invaluable and gave me moments of...."how simple why didn't I think of it" so it's been a great tool. Thank you!

My Choc lab pup learned this so fast, but Instead of touching my hand with her nose, she bites at my hand. Any tips in breaking this habit? I have started to lift my hand up so only her nose hits before I click. Any pointers are appreciated! Thanks!

Can I start with the clicker, then later verbal marker? A clicker is one more thing to remember to bring and hold on to while training.

Learning so much from your channel! Thank you! My Lab/Heeler is almost 8 weeks, and she's already soaking up some of this stuff like a champ. Do you subscribe to the 'they either have it, or they don't' theory on retrieving, or do you think any dog can learn? I'm seeing more of the herding side of her so far.

Hey guys amazing content! Its been amazingly helpful! But I need help! My puppy is an Aussie Shepard - born on a farm and I grabbed him at 8 weeks old. Ive had him for about 1.5 weeks and hes knocking it out of the park - he has bed, kennel, sit, lay down and come (here) nailed - however when it comes to "here" he doesnt just lead with his nose - he goes after my hand and starts chewing etc. I know puppies at 8 weeks are teeth but tyhis is behavior id like to eliminate. Problem is - if I try to hold back until he only does his nose he starts to bark and lose his patience and ultimately starts to disengage entirely. How can go about removing this unwanted habit so hes only leading with his nose? Or is this something that eventually goes away on its own?

How long do you continue the "here" training? And is there a way to ensure when you've mastered the clicker training - I'm trying how/when to stop rewarding with clicker + food (or should I always include food)?

I love your videos. Question. I’m training my first gsp. She’s brilliant. In one of your videos Kat is calling Rogue’s name. This one you’re just using “here”. Which is better? Is there a preference? Does it matter? Lol. Personally I like using the name, especially in the case of working with other dogs. However, I also send her with her name. Looking for your input. Thank you

Love the videos, we are almost 1 week in to owning our first lab here in the uk. I have been watching all of your videos with Sprig and Fox and very keen to train our Lab (oakley) in a similar way. However, I have been trying to 'charge the clicker' all week to which there is little to no response. I have assessed my timing and fairly confident I have that right. Is it possible that some dogs do not respond to a clicker? or should I keep persevering with it? We have taught him 'sit' just in a conventional training method, but that was easy because he just wants to sit all the time anyway!!! Would be great to hear your advice, Thankyou!

Our Lab pup is 8 weeks old. We brought him home at 7 weeks. He is great with the clicker, and actually already touches my hand and sits. But when we go outside, he will not come to us, and isn't very interested in following us around the property. We have tried with and w/out a leash. I have thrown a training dummy a few times, and he isn't very interested in that either. He prefers to stay behind us when we do get him moving. In the house, he is very active and playful. Am I expecting too much from him outside at this stage? This is my 3rd lab, and the others were always energetic outside and retrieved from the start. Thank you for any information.

I'm going through the same with my 9 week old chocolate. He sits, stays, and lays down on command. Outside and distracted, completely different story. I think we're expecting too much. Just stay consistent

@Bearhunt002 4 күн бұрын
Try keeping the pup on a 10-15 foot check cord. This will help when they are outside. You give the command here or come and draw then in. It will also help with retrieving down the road so the pup always comes straight back to you and not run off.

How many times a day do you utilize the clicker training? Is it only morning feed and night feed? I have a 8 week old yellow lab and trying to go along with the video series and so far he know what the clicker means at breakfast and dinner and we’ve been working on sit. I’m just wondering if I need to do it more that just twice a day. @StandingStoneKennels

Just a quick question for you. How do I train my Labrador to eat from his bowl only. The last one I had used to sniff food stuff that was thrown near bins and munched on it. This caused him to have an upset tummy. So for the next one I want him to have his food from his bowl only and doesn't eat food that is outside his bowl. Regards

Have a question with training my own dog. His name is Ruger. He is 1 year 3 months old. He is doing good with sitting on command with clicker but when I say here he comes to about 3-4 feet in front of me and stops. He wont target my hand. Mind I have just started training with him. What can I do to help him become more at ease with coming all the way to target?
