Well, the latest science indicates it is an orientation that they were born with. Not something they chose or want. Roughly half of child sex crimes are not even committed by pedophiles, but sex traffic rings and black markets. This is not to say the act of pedophilia is okay, but you can’t fault someone for having that disorder any more than you can fault someone for being gay. Edit: Look up the Dunkelfeld project and expand your research from there. @@someguyusa it's not an orientation, it's a leftover survival trait from our caveman days which causes harm in modern society. Back then the species survival depended on reproducing as soon and often as possible so it made sense for brains to be wired to be attracted to younger individuals. Now with larger population and longer life spans such a trait is undesirable and harmful to have. It's unfortunate we have such a knee jerk reaction these days as it's a psychological issue that does need to be addressed yet doing so immediately triggers the knee jerk response to assume the addresser is actively involved in the act.

And it IS an orientation in the same way that heterosexuality or homosexuality is an orientation because it simply refers to what attracts you sexually. It just happens that is due to a disorder, but no less an orientation. Besides, prepubescent children are not ready for reproduction, so it makes no sense to view it as a leftover survival trait as that would not be a beneficial trait in the first place.

Actually thats a good idea, as distasteful as it is to pay help these people in any way. Fully covered surgical fix, with chemicals and hormone replacement afterwards. advertise it publicly so that paedos have no excuse to defend their sexual preferences, cast it as help, and frame it as a social expectation, until it slowly becomes legislated to be mandatory. It can also be a choice offered to offenders- jail for life/death penalty, or getting fixed. They need to always be made to understand their actions are sick and wrong in every conceivable way. Empathy is not behind the help they are offered, practicality is behind it. The money will be spent, either on their incarceration or their castration, and the way they ARE is completely unacceptable, so they need to be told to understand that.

Part of punishment is retribution. Just because they can’t get the same urges and reoffend doesn’t mean they shouldn’t suffer severe punishment for harming/traumatizing an innocent child

Aside from the comedy, there is actually a true note to this. In Germany there is an organisation to help and study pedophiles. Though they have strict rules (no current inmates or people who are in court because of this kind of things, the patients must be open about everything they did, even if that will put them in jail and so on) many pedophiles actually choose to get the help. This on one hand helped get more info on why people are attracted to kids (some it's genetically, though they usually don't act on their attraction and rather commit suicide, while in others it's due to outside factors), bust multiple porn rings, helped get info about victims and get them help and the people, who participate have a over 99% chance of living a perfectly normal life afterwards without posing a risk to anyone else anymore, significantly reducing the number of sexual attacks on kids. So yeah, therapy and treating non acting pedophiles like humans and get them help before something happens can actually prevent most child rapes. Of course some people are just assholes, who won't be influenced by this and won't get the help but it can really help the rest

At my school my brother forgot his sports kit and was made to play sports in his underwear by the dodgy physical education teachers. That was an attempt by certain online groups to try to merge with the LGBTQ movement. It failed as the LGBTQ wanted nothing to do with them and even began doxing members of the group and getting them arrested. The MAPS group still exists, but in the last 3 years have instead merged themselves with the anti-trans movement and are using all these new anti-trans culture war laws to try to overwhelm they legal system in a way that will make it harder to get caught. Unfortunately unlike the LGBTQ, the anti-trans movement has been more than happy to accept MAPS so long as they cry "woke" call themselves patriots and claim everyone else is trying to groom children.
