Every time i see a japanese audience, they light me up. So nice to see an audience that still appreciates skill.

Man, what a line-up--Stanley and Omar with Wayne, and Herbie. I should have moved to Japan long, long ago...

The full performance of this one is a cult classic, a fan favourite (and there are a couple more uploads of this outburst of joy and great, seamless musicianship from the power quartet here on KZbin). Haven't seen the interview before though - thanks! Omar is right of course, the rapport between him and Stanley is unmistakable...

Jazz and Flamenco are totally different but got a lot in common. There's a main line that has been rehearsed and played many times, however anything can change at any time without any advice. In this incredible live performance of Herbie Hancock's Canteloupe Island by these four monsters, they look at each other all the time, as other monsters like Paco de Lucía and his band did. Anything can change all of a sudden and just a look at each other will tell where that change will lead without knowing where it will end.

There is a great interview with Omar on that drum channel where he interviews different drummers. That was one of the best interviews he did, with Omar.

Hi Bret, hi jazz friends I would like to take this opportunity to point out an interview that the German pianist Pqblo Held published on youtube two days ago: Gonzalo Rubalcaba, who turned 60 in May, tells the story of his life from childhood in Cuba to the present day in 3.5 hours. Dear jazz friends, dear Bret, I'm sure you'll love it and won't regret a minute of the 3.5 hours.
