Oh Jeff, Stanley has always been loved here in the PNW. My great grandfather used them when he worked at a lumber mill, grandfather used them as a roofer and so did my dad and I use mine in my job as a security officer. Stanley started in 1913 and everyone here in the PNW knows them better then thermos. You see a coffee container over here and 98% 9f the time it is a beat up old green Stanley thermos.

Ive had the thermos version and agree with your pros and cons, I would add that the thermos also would keep the spoon clean. I used mine for work and often had it in my work bag and on job sites and never had to worry about my spoon getting dirty (food for thought) Great video as always Keep up the good work

I'm just curious. Is the space in the top of the Stanley lid big enough for either the thermos spoon or another folding utensil? Might solve the spork on the outside issue, but add another potential source of noise.

Im not sure I dont have it in front of me at the moment BUT that bail is a good place to attach a small spoon or spork with a carabiner depending on the design :)

I've had both designs. One problem with the folding spoon is that when it's folded up, it can easily fall into a drain and get chewed up by a garbage disposal. (You can guess how I'd know that.) Whereas the bigger spoon won't do that, since it's like a regular utensil. What I do now is actually just carry a separate spoon in a little case in my backpack or pocket to eat from my thermos. Works fine

I like both but for overall design I prefer the Thermos in this application. I have both in multiple sizes and both work really well overall. For this size though, the spoon is what makes the difference.

The con I see with the spork on outside, is that it you will have to clean it before you use it, not only after. Because of stuff touching it and getting it dirty before you go to eat

Put that thermos spoon in the Stanley lid condiment compartment. I have versions of both.

I have both the 16 and 24 oz Thermos. As well as the 24 oz Stanley. I prefer the Thermos when working inside/in the office. I prefer the Stanley when working outside/in the field. My Stanley has the regular handle and I just put my own regular large spoon in and it stays. I like the folding spoon storage and ordered a spork for it online. I use the same lid and spoon on the 24 oz Thermos. But I will say, Stanley's warranty has been great. They replaced my 15 year old 24 oz Thermos with a brand new one no problem. Just asked for the model number on the bottom.

I have the Stanely, the thermos seems a little more thought out. on the stanley I've never used the spork, and the glue failed on the cup lid thing making the plastic rim separate and it filled with water while washing, i had to heat it to evaporate all the water out and re glue it. it does keep my soup nice and hot all day and i think it was $16 when i bought it years ago so i've been happy with it overall

I recently bought the Thermos one on clearance for like 5 bucks. Haven't had a chance to use it though. Nice to know it's good though. Happy Easter!

My grandpa told me you always prime your thermos. Put boiling water in the container and let it heat it up and then put your food in the container. It'll stay hot much longer.

ive done that with coffee :) a good coffee house will warm the mug so the drink stays hotter longer, its a great tip :)

I like the Stanley because it holds a good amount of coffee for one day for me. I don't eat much out of it so I ditched the spork. Most plastic ware fits if the spork breaks though.

Haven't used either in several years, so I can't say anything about their new models, but I wS very disappointed by Stanley 5 years ago when I was bringing lunch everyday. Sho kdd by how good the thermos 32 oz food jar was in comparison. Stanley is Chinese ceap like every other brand. All junk. It's a crap shoot with all these brands

Yeti took an anti 2A position a couple years ago and is now paying the price. To me they were overpriced and it was real easy to say go woke...go broke!

@@alejandrorivas4585 Yeti took it political first. TC was just pointing it out. It's fine if a company wants to take a stand for/against something. Likewise, some of us will do the same and use our buying power to let them know.
